Everyone is eagerly awaiting The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, a new video game adaptation that isn’t about fighting or haunted robots. It sends the beloved Mario into space for an adventure where a party goes wrong because of Bowser. We’ve just gotten a first, extended preview of the sequel, which is expected to be a huge box office success when it releases in 2026.
Like many Nintendo fans, we at TopMob were thrilled when the new game was confirmed to take place in space, especially because of the character Rosalina. The trailer perfectly captures the magical, space-themed feeling that made the original Galaxy so special on the GameCube. It makes you wish we could have amazing Star Festivals right here on Earth!
The video isn’t a traditional trailer, but more of a longer scene with a collection of clips at the end – and that’s okay, because it finally introduces Rosalina! It’s not just a brief appearance either; we get a good look at her abilities, and there’s even a cool moment where she remains perfectly composed while a huge explosion happens behind her.

As a huge Nintendo fan, I was so excited by the latest Direct! Not only did we get a trailer, but they also announced some amazing new people joining the project – including someone who’s worked on Marvel movies and a director who’s won awards. It’s really promising to see that kind of talent involved!
- Voice of Rosalina: Brie Larson
- Voice of Bowser Jr.: Benny Safdie
Speaking of Bowser Jr., check out the evil offspring with a sweet new color scheme:

The voice cast is back for the next installment, with Chris Pratt returning as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

Despite numerous leaks surrounding other films, Nintendo and Illumination have done a great job keeping details about this project under wraps. However, just a week before the trailer release, packaging for licensed Pillsbury snacks revealed a first look at Yoshi’s new design. These same snacks also strongly suggested that Bowser Jr. would appear alongside Bowser as a key villain in The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
The Super Mario Bros. Galaxy Movie will blast off into theaters on April 3, 2026.
