The initial glimpse of the Punisher alongside Spider-Man in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day is exactly the kind of interaction fans have been hoping for within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man films are consistently among the strongest entries in the MCU, and the tradition of including team-ups with other heroes definitely adds to their appeal.
I’m so excited about Spider-Man: Brand New Day! It’s amazing that they’re including Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, finally bringing him into the MCU movies. And the rumors about Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk going back to his more savage side are really intriguing. Because this story seems like it’s going to be focused on street-level action, I have a feeling the Punisher will be a major player, and I can’t wait to see how Spider-Man and the Punisher interact – that first glimpse was fantastic!
The First Look At The Punisher And Spider-Man Together In Brand New Day Has Been Revealed
Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is happening on location, and fans have captured photos and videos of Tom Holland performing stunts. We’ve also seen cast members like Mark Ruffalo, Sadie Sink (playing an unknown role), and Michael Mando as Scorpion. Recently, photos shared on Instagram revealed the first glimpse of Spider-Man and the Punisher together on set.

Recent set photos from the upcoming MCU film show Tom Holland as Spider-Man facing off with Jon Bernthal’s Punisher. Spider-Man is seen crouching in front of the Punisher’s truck, looking directly at Frank Castle, who is pointing a gun at him. It’s unknown if the scene featured the actors themselves or their stunt doubles, but it offers a first look at the interaction between these two characters.
Why Punisher And Spider-Man’s Revealed Brand New Day Dynamic Makes Sense
Jon Bernthal’s portrayal of the Punisher embraces a much harsher form of justice than Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Throughout his appearances in the Netflix series Daredevil and The Punisher, and even in Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again, his character frequently resorts to violence, inflicting serious injuries and even killing many people. Because of this stark contrast, I always anticipated a confrontation between them if they ever crossed paths in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It’s common for superheroes to initially clash before eventually teaming up, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe follows this pattern. Many MCU heroes – like Thor and Iron Man, Ant-Man and the Falcon, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, and Spider-Man, and the Guardians of the Galaxy – all fought each other when they first met. But ultimately, they all learned to work together.
We can expect a similar dynamic between Spider-Man and the Punisher in the upcoming series, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Although set photos reveal the Punisher aiming a gun at Spider-Man, they’ll probably team up to fight lower-level criminals in New York City, such as Scorpion and Tombstone, in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
