Wheel of Time Star Squashes Season 4 Return Hopes With Goodbye Video

Daniel Henney, a star of the Prime Video series Wheel of Time, has seemingly confirmed the show’s cancellation with a heartfelt video message. This follows Amazon’s announcement in May that The Wheel of Time wouldn’t return after its third season, meaning the series won’t adapt the rest of Robert Jordan’s books. While fans tried to campaign for a revival, neither Amazon nor any other studio has shown interest in continuing the show.

The cast of The Wheel of Time seems to be wrapping up their work on the show, with actor Daniel Henney posting a farewell message on Instagram. Filming in Prague, where the series was largely filmed, Henney explained that revisiting the city was something he specifically wanted to do now that filming has concluded, so he could say goodbye.

It was important to Daniel Henney to return to Prague after finishing ‘The Wheel of Time.’ He’d promised himself he would come back to say goodbye to the city, where the show filmed for around four or five years. He described his time there as an incredible, difficult, and life-changing experience, and he wanted to express his gratitude to Prague and its people, as well as the fantastic cast and crew he worked with.

The actor explained that Prague is where the show TV Lan originated and expressed gratitude to The Wheel of Time fans for their amazing support throughout the three seasons.

I’m so grateful for the experience of playing TV Lan, it was a lot of fun! I want to thank everyone for the amazing support you showed us over the three seasons – we really felt your energy and appreciated you defending and loving the show so much.

It’s been half a year since Amazon decided not to make another season of The Wheel of Time. Fans have been working hard to try and save the show, hoping either Amazon or another company would pick it up. But a recent farewell post from one of the show’s stars suggests that’s unlikely to happen, and the series is probably finished.

Rafe Judkins brought Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time to television, with Rosamund Pike in the leading role and also serving as a producer. The show starred Zoe Robins, Madeleine Madden, Josha Stradowski, and Marcus Rutherford, and followed a group of heroes on a journey to prevent the return of a powerful evil, the Dark One. The final episodes of the series aired in April 2025.

Will The Wheel of Time Turn Again?

The cancellation of The Wheel of Time surprised and disappointed many fans, as the show didn’t plan to adapt all the books in the series. Season 3 only covered events from books four and five, leaving a lot of the story – based on the original 14 novels – untold.

Fans and the cast of The Wheel of Time were saddened by the show’s cancellation. Just weeks before the news, Rosamund Pike expressed her strong desire for the show to continue, saying she “really hope[d] we get to continue this journey.”

Rafe Judkins, the showrunner, expressed his surprise about the cancellation on Instagram, stating he was unaware of the reason. He remains optimistic that another network might revive The Wheel of Time, noting that while it’s unusual, shows sometimes find new homes after being canceled.

Since Prime Video cancelled The Wheel of Time, no other streaming services or networks have expressed interest in picking it up, making a revival seem unlikely.
