The latest season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way followed Jenny and Sumit Singh, and this time, their relationship drama looked a little different. Sumit’s family has finally accepted their marriage, and surprisingly, they’ve been getting along while living together. Jenny worried this wouldn’t last and thought they needed to earn money and find their own place, but it seemed like not everyone agreed on their plan to open a “Family Cafe.”
Sumit’s new cafe faced a problem just before it was supposed to open. A whole day’s worth of food preparation went to waste, and he needs to figure out a clean water source. This means it will take longer than expected for the cafe to start making money. Jenny was upset because the delay pushes back their moving plans, but it doesn’t seem like everyone agrees on how to run the business.
I’m Not Sure Why Jenny Assumes The Profits Of The Cafe Are Going Solely To Her And Sumit
Jenny was constantly focused on the cafe making money, wanting us to get back on our feet and find a new home quickly. While I’m no business expert, I know it generally takes a year or two for a new business to even cover its startup costs, let alone start earning a profit.
It’s unclear why Jenny thinks she and Sumit will earn enough to support themselves. The cafe will be staffed by six people – Sumit, his parents, his brother, his sister-in-law, and Jenny – meaning any profits will be divided among them after covering rent and operating costs. Despite this, they both seem to expect to keep all the money. This could cause conflict if the family realizes they’re doing a lot of work without proper compensation.
It Makes More Sense The “Family Cafe” Would Support The Family
I’ve often said I dislike the storylines of Jenny and Sumit on 90 Day Fiancé, and I’ve finally figured out why. Jenny has consistently shown a disregard for Indian customs – she even commented negatively on the cow blessing ritual. Now, after his parents kindly offered her a place to live when they were in a difficult situation, she seems eager to regain her independence.
More On 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way
Manon and Anthony from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way can be a bit frustrating to watch, but I believe their story will continue for quite a while.
Those parents are now busy preparing traditional Indian dishes for a cafe, even though their daughter-in-law doesn’t know how to make them, and their son, the chef, isn’t stepping up to help. Meanwhile, Jenny plans to brew the coffee – which seems to just involve using a standard coffee maker with pre-ground beans, a filter, and water. I’m not sure why she thinks that justifies being paid as much as everyone else.
It would be ideal if Sumit and Jenny could move out on their own, but even if they don’t, I hope they’re content if their business does well. They’ve overcome so much – Sumit used to be unable to marry because he couldn’t afford a divorce. Considering where they started, living with his parents isn’t the worst thing.
