Get ready for Season 13 of When Calls the Heart, coming in 2026! The last season ended with Elizabeth and Nathan leaving Hope Valley with their children, Allie and Jack, to find medical care for Jack, who has diabetes. Actress Erin Krakow has shared some hints about what viewers can expect on this new journey for the family.
Elizabeth and Nathan’s relationship has been going strong since they started dating after her breakup with Lucas. They’re really getting comfortable together, and that includes taking a trip away from Hope Valley. According to Krakow, viewers will see Elizabeth, Nathan, Allie, and Jack enjoying time together outside of town, and this new dynamic will continue when they return.
The story follows these characters as they venture outside of Hope Valley, but they inevitably return. Once back, we get a deeper look at their dynamic – how they work together as partners, and how they navigate the possibility of co-parenting. There are heartwarming scenes of them supporting each other while raising Allie and Little Jack, alongside some truly beautiful and romantic moments.
We don’t yet know how much screen time the core four characters will have away from Hope Valley, or how much time will jump between the end of Season 12 and the Season 13 finale. However, it seems there will be enough of a time jump to allow viewers to see how their relationships develop and how well they function as a group. The showrunner understands what fans are hoping for and is committed to delivering it.
We’ve heard from viewers that they’re hoping to see progress in the relationship, and we’re taking that to heart. We’ll do our best to make that happen.
Viewers have been eager to see Elizabeth find love again, especially with Nathan. Since the beginning of Season 6, she’d been caught between Nathan (Kevin McGarry) and Lucas (Chris McNally) after the off-screen passing of her husband, Jack (Daniel Lissing). It took Elizabeth a while to start dating again, and although Nathan shared his feelings for her in Season 8, she eventually chose Lucas.
Elizabeth and Nathan got engaged after a couple of seasons, but she ended things in the Season 10 finale. She and Nathan then slowly started a relationship, and after finally admitting their feelings for each other at the end of Season 11, they’ve been very happy together. It will be interesting to see how their relationship evolves now, especially as they adjust to life with Allie, Jack, and Jack’s recent diabetes diagnosis.
Season 13 of When Calls the Heart will feature more than just Elizabeth and Nathan’s story, but viewers should prepare for some difficult times ahead. Actor Jack Wagner hinted at a major, life-altering event in Hope Valley, potentially similar to the recent wildfires. While the specifics remain a mystery, fans will have to watch Season 13, expected to premiere on Hallmark in 2026, to find out what happens.
