Mr. Beast Joins The Cast Of Beauty And The Beast In SNL Disney Spoof

Recently, Saturday Night Live put a new spin on the Disney story Beauty and the Beast. In this version, Belle, played by host Nikki Glaser, falls in love with popular YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, better known as Mr. Beast.

MrBeast became well-known in 2017 when a video of him counting to 100,000 went viral. Since then, he’s gained a massive following of 450 million subscribers by creating popular challenge videos. He’s also branched out into other areas like business and different types of media. Most of his viewers are under 25, and a large percentage are male.

A recent Saturday Night Live sketch parodies MrBeast’s popular videos. It starts with a character portraying MrBeast (played by Ben Marshall) imprisoning Belle’s father in a dungeon, offering him $300,000 as a reward for enduring 30 days. The sketch then satirizes the extreme challenges MrBeast is known for, where people face bizarre situations to win prizes. It adds another layer of humor by showing the enchanted objects from Beauty and the Beast also competing for money – Kenan Thompson, as Cogsworth, jokes he was offered $2,500 to act as a clock for a year.

The skit’s funniest moments include Thompson and Bowen Yang performing parody versions of songs from “Beauty and the Beast.” It also uses title cards to jokingly introduce the fictional film, referencing the team behind MrBeast’s videos and the director of Kai Cenat’s popular livestream, “Kai-sablanca.” One card playfully acknowledges that the humor might not land with older viewers, reading, “I don’t get it. – Every person over 25,” a nod to MrBeast’s younger audience.

Most of the humor in the skit comes from MrBeast’s popular challenge videos, even the main joke at the end. In the skit, Belle admits she loves MrBeast, but he asks her to complete a challenge to prove it: spending a month in a car with two sumo wrestlers. She only accepts because he’s a billionaire.

The recent Saturday Night Live sketch poked fun at MrBeast’s over-the-top videos, but it also showed how differently younger and older generations view that type of content. MrBeast hasn’t publicly commented on the sketch yet.
