Love Is Blind is a popular reality dating show with a unique concept. Participants date each other through separate ‘pods’ – rooms divided by a wall – and spend ten days getting to know each other without ever seeing what the other person looks like. If they connect, they get engaged and then meet face-to-face, starting a month-long journey leading up to their wedding.
As a total reality TV junkie, I can’t believe Netflix has already put out nine seasons of that show! Look, it’s definitely got its problems – the whole premise is kinda wild, right? – but I’m still totally invested in watching the drama unfold as these couples decide to get engaged before they even really get to know each other. It’s a train wreck you can’t look away from!

Season 9 (2025)
The ninth season of Love Is Blind took place in Denver and followed a new group of singles hoping to prove that a strong emotional connection is more important than physical attraction. While Megan and Jordan, Chelsea and Jimmy, and Jess and Johnny all seemed to hit it off in the pods, they faced difficulties when they met in person. The show followed its usual format – blind dates, proposals without seeing each other, and the struggles of being engaged – but this season was unique. For the first time ever in the show’s history, none of the couples actually got married.
A Season Defined by Disconnect
Okay, so Season 9 is definitely my least favorite, and it’s just…rough. It wasn’t the fun drama we’ve come to expect; it felt genuinely unpleasant and toxic. The earlier seasons always had a good mix of drama and people actually connecting, but the cast in Denver just didn’t get the show, you know? I really liked Megan and Jordan at first, but watching them fall apart was painful – it was just a mess of misunderstandings and them acting way too immature. And Chelsea and Jimmy? Ugh, so much jealousy and passive-aggressive behavior. Plus, Jess and Johnny never really clicked beyond just a physical attraction. It just wasn’t a good season, honestly.
The reunion episode proved what many viewers suspected all along: most of the participants weren’t genuinely committed to finding love. Unlike previous seasons, there wasn’t a strong, likeable couple to root for – a pairing that usually carries the show and offers a hopeful storyline. Instead, Season 9 focused heavily on drama that didn’t really go anywhere. Even the initial connections between contestants felt hurried and lacked depth. For a show based on taking risks and being open, this season was only mildly enjoyable, and it left many wondering about the future of relationships and genuine connection in our society.

Season 5 (2023)
Season 5 of Love Is Blind definitely delivered the reality TV drama, but many viewers found it incredibly frustrating to watch. While love triangles and changing feelings are common after the initial connections, this season’s cast seemed particularly toxic. Izzy and Stacey quickly realized they weren’t a good match once they started discussing money, and Stacey’s critical comments about Izzy’s life—even on their wedding day—didn’t help. Her family also made Izzy feel unwelcome and judged his financial situation.
Everyone Was Toxic in Season 5
On the group trip, Taylor and JP repeatedly argued about Taylor’s makeup use. Lydia and Milton, who were the only couple to eventually get married, faced challenges because of Lydia’s history with another person on the show, Uche, and her tendency to get angry quickly. While viewers were impressed with how patient Milton was, the season ultimately ranked last due to having just one lasting relationship and a lot of frustrating, insignificant conflict.

Season 8 (2025)
Let’s be honest, Season 8 of Love is Blind wasn’t very good. A big part of the problem was the male cast – there just weren’t enough genuinely nice guys, and a lot of them seemed focused on drama. While a juicy, confrontational reunion could have saved things – people enjoy watching both happy endings and messy conflicts – the reunion ended up being pretty tame and lacked any real substance. It just didn’t deliver.
Controversy, Bad Matches, and a Dull Reunion
As a long-time fan, I have to say the season finale left me a little flat. Only Taylor and Daniel actually got married, which isn’t unusual for the show, but a lot of us were hoping for more. Honestly, the whole episode felt like it was missing that dramatic spark we all expect. What really bothered me, though, was how much of the season got bogged down in politics. These days, I really just want to escape when I watch TV, and constantly hearing about political issues felt like a real downer. The breakup between Sara and Ben, specifically, over disagreements about Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ+ rights, was particularly divisive and sparked a lot of debate.

Season 2 (2022)
While Season 2 offered a slight improvement in entertainment compared to Seasons 5 and 8, the difference wasn’t significant. Six couples left the pods engaged, but the season was marked by more conflict and doubt than genuine connection. Several relationships struggled: Shayne frequently sought reassurance, Shake was upfront about his lack of physical attraction to Deepti, Danielle and Nick consistently clashed, and Shaina avoided group interactions to get to know her match.
Season 2 Dealt with Selfishness in Both a Positive and Negative Light
Ultimately, none of the couples appeared genuinely in love, even the two who got married – they ended up divorcing within a year. The most positive outcome of the season was Deepti’s decision to prioritize her own happiness. She handled a difficult situation with maturity, trying to see things from Shake’s perspective. But after almost six weeks, she realized she deserved someone who loved her completely and confidently chose to leave.

Season 7 (2024)
Season 7 of Love is Blind is fairly average compared to other seasons, but not because it was particularly exciting. Many viewers found it slow and uneventful, with less drama in the initial pod stage than in previous seasons. Most of the couples didn’t connect with the audience, though Garrett and Taylor stood out as a genuine pair who faced relatable challenges and shared strong connections as they approached their wedding day.
Season 7 Only Had One Good Couple
Hannah and Nick’s relationship was a prime example of toxicity, with Hannah’s controlling behavior predictably driving them apart. Ramses came across as disingenuous when trying to act like a hero, and he was insensitive when discussing contraception with Marissa. Tim and Alex provided some much-needed humor, though their storyline was also frustrating at times. Many viewers were baffled by the breakup over something as trivial as dishes and a nap. Overall, the season has been described as underwhelming, with a slow pace, few memorable moments, and only two successful couples.

Season 6 (2024)
Season 6 of the show really exploded on social media, giving fans a look into the personal lives of the cast – both their present and past. But the drama inside the show was even more intense. Viewers saw relationships end abruptly, often without proper closure, and a series of complicated love triangles that kept everyone glued to their screens each Wednesday.
Season 6 Had the Most Scandalous Secrets Revealed
Look, I love a good dramatic reality TV show as much as the next person, and seeing relationships implode on Love Is Blind is definitely addictive. But at the end of the day, the whole point of the show is for people to actually find love, right? It felt like a lot more people this season were there for the wrong reasons, like Jeramey pointed out. Season 6 had some really sweet and passionate moments, but honestly, all the drama and the fact that so many people didn’t seem genuinely committed to the process kind of overshadowed everything.
Overall, this season is a pretty good reality TV show, but it doesn’t feel as authentic as past seasons. Previous seasons felt more focused on the relationships between contestants, rather than trying to create drama for the cameras.

Season 3 (2022)
Season 3 was full of drama and kept viewers hooked with all the twists and turns in the relationships formed in the pods. After returning to the real world, there were both emotional moments and glimmers of hope, and even some unexpected surprises during the wedding ceremonies. It was classic reality TV, keeping fans on the edge of their seats, and a few couples quickly became popular on Twitter.
Season 3 Was Everything Reality TV Should Be
Cole and Zanab had a difficult relationship from the beginning, so their breakup wasn’t unexpected. However, Zanab’s long speech at their wedding ceremony did surprise Cole and some guests. Nancy seemed completely swept away by her feelings, while Bartise appeared immature. SK unexpectedly rejected Raven, even though she had done a lot to demonstrate she’d be a good wife. Colleen and Matt, and Alexa and Brennon, were the only couples who successfully made it through the experiment, and they seem truly happy despite the challenges of Love Is Blind.

Season 4 (2023)
Season 4 was a total rollercoaster – dramatic, intense, and everything you’d expect from a great reality dating show. However, despite all that, it still lands at number two on our list.
Irina and Micah were significantly more critical and unkind than the other women on the group trip. There was a lot of romantic drama, especially with Kwame, who was engaged to Chelsea but also caught the attention of Micah. Zack proposed to two women, and both accepted, but viewers were glad Irina prioritized her own interests and left him, allowing Bliss to find happiness.
Season 4 Kept Us on Our Toes With Twists and Turns
Tiffany and Brett were clearly the strongest couple this season, and maybe even in the entire show’s history. The friendship between Brett and Marshall also stood out, especially after Marshall’s difficult breakup with Jackie – who may have been unfaithful and then started dating another cast member, Josh. Despite the drama, Marshall and Brett continued to support each other. It was heartwarming to see three couples navigate the challenges together and offer each other support, and the accepting atmosphere among those willing to try and make things work was genuinely nice.

Season 1 (2020)
After the positive response to season four, you might be wondering how the first season of Love Is Blind is considered the best. The key is authenticity. Season one was filmed in 2018 but didn’t air until 2020. The cast had no idea what to expect – this was a completely new social experiment! Those first ten episodes, from the initial pod dates to the weddings, feel more genuine compared to the later seasons, which often come across as more focused on judgment and seeking attention.
Season 1 Was the Only True Experiment
Viewers really connected with Cameron and Lauren’s romance, and the rollercoaster between Giannina and Damian kept everyone guessing – it all felt more genuine in the first season. While there were definitely shocking moments, like the intense argument between Diamond and Carlton and Jessica’s lingering feelings for Barnett, the way people reacted seemed truly real.
With the show’s format now well-known, some contestants, like Matthew from Season 6, suggest people are more focused on becoming minor celebrities than finding love. Because the show’s focus on genuine connections seems to have faded, it’s fitting that the season with the most real relationships and reactions is considered the best.
