Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson are teaming up for a new movie coming out in 2025, which is exciting news for fans of their earlier work like The Hunger Games and Twilight. Lawrence has clarified that the project isn’t a continuation of those stories, but with both franchises back in the spotlight, a recent lie detector test the two actors did together was full of laughs.
The new film starring the two actors is called Die My Love, and it’s getting great reviews, especially for Jennifer Lawrence’s captivating and somewhat unpredictable performance. However, everyone’s aware that both actors are famous for leading major young adult movie series. Here’s what happened when Jennifer Lawrence jokingly asked her co-star about the possibility of more Twilight movies while he was taking a lie detector test for Vanity Fair.
- Jennifer Lawrence: “If [the Safdie Brothers] were gonna direct a new Twilight, would you do it?”
- Robert Pattinson: “Oh, for sure.”
- Jennifer Lawrence: “I don’t think you should, but OK.”
- Robert Pattinson: “It’d be great. I like taking jobs off younger actors. I do. I want to play 17 Again. There’s a movie. Zac’s movie, 17 Again. I want to do 17 Again every year.”
Jennifer Lawrence interviewed Robert Pattinson, asking him questions from a publication as well as some of her own. She started by asking if he’d consider working with the Safdie brothers again, referencing their film Good Time. She then brought up Twilight, and he seemed receptive to discussing it. Throughout the interview, Lawrence and Pattinson kept things light and playful, clearly enjoying a casual and fun conversation.
To mark the 20th anniversary of the book series, the Twilight films were back in cinemas last week. While all the books have already been made into movies, a new animated series based on Midnight Sun is reportedly in the works for Netflix. It’s unknown whether Robert Pattinson would reprise his role in Twilight, except perhaps if the Safdie brothers directed, but his playful explanation of why he might return is really funny. Here’s another amusing quote from the interview:
- Jennifer Lawrence: “I did think it was insane when you cold FaceTimed me, and I was like ‘It’s crazy to cold FaceTime somebody,’ and you were like ‘No, it’s Gen Z.’”
- Robert Pattinson: “As in, I’m Gen Z.”
- Jennifer Lawrence: “You’re not Gen Z, you’re a millennial. How old are you? I believe that you believe that you’re Gen Z.”
- Robert Pattinson: “I am Gen Z.”
- Jennifer Lawrence: “What year were you born?”
- Robert Pattinson: “It doesn’t matter.”
Okay, this interview was seriously hilarious! I was watching and it turns out Robert Pattinson just found out Jennifer Lawrence auditioned for Twilight – can you believe it?! He even asked her if she thought The Hunger Games was a better series, and she immediately said no, totally straight-faced! It was such a funny moment. You really have to see the whole interview, it’s linked here:
These two actors have great chemistry! They became friends while filming Die My Love, and it’s clear on screen. You can see Die My Love in theaters now.
