The story of Predator: Badlands begins with Dek, a young member of the Yautja, who needs to prove his worth to his clan. Despite his father’s disapproval, he decides to hunt the most dangerous creature known to them.
As soon as I arrived on the planet, I met Thia, a helpful droid who showed me around. But our travels together weren’t just about getting from place to place – they really opened my eyes to the huge challenges ahead. It all started to make me realize where I fit in the grand scheme of things, and my role in the universe.
Verdict on Predator: Badlands
Recap
This film centers on a young member of the Yautja, eager to earn the respect of his clan. But when his plans go awry, he finds himself battling the most dangerous creature they’ve ever encountered. Stranded on a strange planet, he must team up with an unexpected ally to survive.
Best Parts
Whenever Dek appears in a fight, things get really interesting. The world feels more detailed and engaging, making you want to see how Dek interacts with everything around them. The story is brightened by Dek’s attempts to connect with Thia, and their dynamic keeps you invested. It’s also great how the story connects to previous films without relying on bringing back old characters.
Worst Parts
The movie has a 3D gimmick which adds very little to the movie in the long run.
Overall, Predator: Badlands is a fantastic action film and a great new installment in the Predator series.
