Now, talk of a team connected to Ghost Rider, called the Midnight Sons, is gaining traction online, hinting at a possible upcoming appearance.

Movie industry insider Jeff Sneider reports that the talked-about Midnight Sons film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would finally introduce Ghost Rider as a key character with supernatural abilities.

On the podcast The Hot Mic, Jeff Sneider shared rumors he’d heard about a potential Midnight Sons project. He said it could star Mahershala Ali, Oscar Isaac, and the actor playing Ghost Rider.

I’ve been hearing rumors about a Midnight Sons project. Apparently, Mahershala Ali, Oscar Isaac, and the actor playing Ghost Rider are all going to be involved.

Sneider didn’t share many details, but he did mention rumors that Sam Raimi, who directed Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, might direct the Midnight Sons project.

As a huge Marvel fan, I was excited to hear Ghost Rider might be coming back! Gabriel Luna, who you might recognize from The Last of Us, already played the character in Agents of SHIELD, and a lot of us are hoping Marvel Studios will bring him back for a proper movie appearance. There’s even talk that the Spirit of Vengeance could show up in Avengers: Doomsday, but we don’t know if it’ll be Luna reprising the role or a completely new take on the character.

For months, there’s been talk about a potential movie based on Marvel’s Midnight Sons. Reports suggested the project was a high priority for Marvel, and that a version of Ghost Rider would likely lead the team.

The Midnight Sons are a team of heroes who deal with the supernatural, featuring characters like Blade, Moon Knight, Ghost Rider, and Doctor Strange. For a while now, there have been rumors about a Midnight Sons movie being made as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, potentially releasing around Phase 7 of the ongoing film series.

Who Will Play Ghost Rider in the MCU? 

Despite being a major Marvel character, Ghost Rider hasn’t yet had a significant role in the main Marvel Cinematic Universe. He did make an appearance on the Agents of SHIELD television show, but hasn’t been featured in any of the MCU films so far.

This follows Nicholas Cage’s portrayal of the character in the two Ghost Rider films before the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which demonstrated the potential for a successful big-screen adaptation of the fiery hero.

Just like characters such as Nova, the X-Men, and Venom, many fans believe it’s only a matter of time before Ghost Rider gets a major Marvel Cinematic Universe movie that’s fully connected to the established comic book storyline.

However, the main questions still linger: who will portray him, and which interpretation of the character will we ultimately see?

As a big Marvel fan, I always thought Gabriel Luna killed it as Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider on Agents of SHIELD. If Marvel ever decides to do a Midnight Sons movie – and seriously, they should! – I’m pretty confident Luna would jump at the chance to play Robbie again. He was just perfect in the role.

I’ve been following the Ghost Rider movie news closely, and it looks like Marvel isn’t going with the Robbie Reyes version everyone’s been speculating about. Instead, they’re planning to bring back the classic Johnny Blaze, the one Nicolas Cage played in those Ghost Rider films from the mid-2000s! I’m honestly really excited about that – Cage was amazing in the role, and I can’t wait to see him potentially revisit it.

So, it looks like they’re starting the search for a new actor to take on this role, which is exciting! It means we’ll probably get another big name joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe to play this famous character from the comics. I’m really curious to see who they cast!
