After airing on U&Drama, Acorn Media International will release Art Detectives on DVD and digitally on December 8, 2025.
This exciting six-episode series brings back actor Moyer as Mike Palmer, a detective with a passion for art, who finds himself investigating art heists, forgeries, and a murder. He teams up with his direct and honest partner, DC Shazia Malik, played by Nina Singh (known from The Lazarus Project). Together, they delve into the fascinating and often ruthless world of art crime, driven by greed, obsession, and revenge. The show also stars Sarah Alexander (Stardust, Green Wing) as museum curator Rosa Conaghan and the beloved Larry Lamb (Gavin and Stacey, Eastenders) as Mike’s dishonest father, Ron Palmer.
Detective Inspector Mick Palmer, known as Moyer, heads the Heritage Crime Unit, which investigates crimes involving valuable art and historical objects, including murders and thefts. After the bright and ambitious Detective Constable Shazia Malik, called Singh, assists him in solving the murder of an art historian, the two begin working together on a series of challenging and important cases.
These clever detectives team up to solve a variety of mysteries, including the illegal trade of Viking artifacts stolen from ancient graves, hidden family issues at a recording studio in Cornwall, a case of sabotage at a wine tasting, and the suspicious death of a wealthy man fascinated by the Titanic – a case that truly feels unsettling.
Shazia is learning to live independently after being overprotected by her family. Meanwhile, Mick starts a new relationship with Rosa Alexander, a museum curator, just as his estranged father, Ron – a famous art forger – unexpectedly reappears in his life.
Art Detectives is a thrilling new crime drama filled with creative stories, stunning visuals, and surprising twists. It focuses on compelling characters and reveals that every piece of art holds a hidden clue.
