Let me tell you, ‘The Acolyte’ has some seriously exciting casting choices. Manny Jacinto, who I loved in ‘The Good Place,’ is fantastic as a character clearly aiming for the dark side – a truly memorable Sith lord in the making. And Lee Jung-jae, fresh off the success of ‘Squid Game,’ delivers a nuanced performance as Osha’s former Jedi Master, a man wrestling with some heavy internal conflicts. The supporting cast is just as strong, featuring talents like Charlie Barnett, Dafne Keen, Jodie Turner-Smith, Carrie-Anne Moss, Dean-Charles Chapman, and even showrunner Leslye Headland’s wife, Rebecca Henderson. It’s a really impressive ensemble.
In Spartacus: House of Ashur, Davis portrays Achillia within a reimagined storyline. The series explores what might have happened if Ashur (Nick E. Tarabay) had killed Spartacus instead of the other way around. As a result, Ashur gains control of Batiatus’ former ludus (gladiator school) and seeks a powerful champion to showcase in the arena. That’s where Achillia comes in – a complex and formidable character brought to life flawlessly by Davis.
I’m so excited about this film, Rental Family! Brendan Fraser is already getting Oscar buzz, and the supporting cast is fantastic – Takehiro Hira, who I loved in Shogun, plays the agency owner, and Mari Yamamoto from Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is also incredible. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and has been getting amazing reviews. It actually had a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes for months, and it’s still holding strong at 89%! I can’t wait for everyone to see it.

Apparently, Stephen Schwartz, who wrote the music for Wicked, said he and Winnie Holzman (who wrote the book) are brainstorming new stories set in the world of the Wicked novels – the ones by Gregory Maguire. But here’s the cool part: it won’t be a sequel focusing on Glinda and Elphaba. They’re exploring other characters and storylines within that same universe, which I think is a brilliant idea!
