The film itself wasn’t the problem; rather, audiences are tired of the endless stream of similar team-up movies Marvel keeps releasing – it’s become almost like a parody of itself, reminiscent of the show The Boys. Thunderbolts was Marvel’s take on Suicide Squad and should have had its moment. While it played it a bit safer than James Gunn’s version, it was a fun, action-packed movie that finally gave a beloved character the spotlight.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, director DaCosta explained the need for sensitivity when portraying the Rage survivor’s quiet scene.

As a huge movie fan, I’m really excited to hear they’re finally making another Jumanji! Honestly, though, getting fired might be the best thing that could’ve happened. It pushes him to finally strike out on his own, launching CTT Oil with his son, Cooper. And let me tell you, for a guy as fiercely independent and headstrong as Tommy, that freedom is absolutely priceless. It’s a great turning point for his character.

The horror film Tarot will leave Netflix on February 1st, giving fans just a few weeks left to watch it. Despite receiving mostly negative reviews from critics (a 17% score on Rotten Tomatoes), the movie performed well in theaters, ranking fourth in its opening weekend in May 2024.
