The way Spybot worked, combined with the story’s setting of someone trying to break into a compromised computer, strongly reminded me of a classic scene from the first Jurassic Park movie. Just like Ray Arnold couldn’t regain power because of a password set by Dennis Nedry, every wrong attempt was met with Nedry’s mocking message, “Uh-uh-uh, you didn’t say the magic word!” This moment in Shadow Lord wasn’t just a playful nod to that film; it was part of a history of paying tribute to the creators of both Star Wars and Jurassic Park.

The DC Universe (DCU) began as a fresh start after the previous DC Extended Universe didn’t quite succeed. However, it wasn’t a total reset. Some projects from the old universe, particularly those James Gunn was already working on, were kept as part of the new continuity. For example, the 2021 film The Suicide Squad still fits into the DCU, and introduced characters like Weasel and Peacemaker who will reappear. While most of The Suicide Squad works well within the DCU’s timeline, there’s still one detail about Superman that needs to be clarified.

Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios are creating a new immersive attraction called Superman Experience: Defenders Unite. Opening April 18, 2026, at Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, the walkthrough experience will let guests feel like they have superpowers, work together, and even ‘fly’ with Superman using advanced motion capture, 3D glasses, and high-quality sound.

The latest additions to the streaming service include the film Noah, which joined titles like Interstellar, the Blade series, and several Transformers movies on April 1st. Noah stars Russell Crowe as the man chosen to build an ark to save his family and all life on Earth from a massive flood. While director Darren Aronofsky’s previous films, such as Black Swan and Requiem for a Dream, were known for their intensity, Noah was a different kind of project – and it proved to be a successful one.

Despite the changes, season 23 of NCIS has given its main team plenty of attention. Each member has faced a compelling storyline this year, with a particular focus on McGee’s personal life. Shortly after Thom E. Gemcity returned and released his new book, episode 11, “In Too Deep,” revealed a major new detail about McGee’s character – the biggest in years.

A key character missing from early looks at season 5 is Ryan Butcher, who has become increasingly important to the plot since his introduction in season 2 (played by Cameron Crovetti). He’s a crucial link to Becca for Billy Butcher, and represents a potential companion for the isolated Homelander. Throughout the series, Ryan has been caught in the middle of these two father figures, but after seemingly choosing Homelander in season 4, the two are no longer together at the start of season 5.

As a huge movie and TV fan, I’ve been watching Netflix’s moves with their original stories and adaptations pretty closely. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster, honestly. The Witcher really missed the mark for me – it just didn’t feel true to the books and games. But then Wednesday came along and totally nailed it! It pleased longtime Addams Family fans like me while also bringing in a whole new audience. Castlevania was a surprise too – they took the source material and built something completely new and amazing. Of course, they’ve had success with big names like Marvel and The Lincoln Lawyer, but they’ve also created their own hits like KPop Demon Hunters and, let’s be real, Stranger Things is a phenomenon. It’s clear they’re figuring out what works when it comes to building franchises.

Gunn quickly responded on social media to dispute a report from Deadline. He criticized their journalism as “poor and inaccurate,” saying he was disappointed with its quality. While Gunn frequently corrects rumors online, his strong criticism of a well-known industry publication is unusual.

All three shows became available to most international viewers on Wednesday, though ‘Daredevil’ actually started streaming Tuesday night in the US. Because of the small time difference, fans could watch four episodes of gritty, mature superhero content from all the shows consecutively. While not intended as a shared event, it definitely felt like one.

This series continues the story begun in WandaVision and Agatha All Along, focusing on Vision, played by Paul Bettany, and other AI characters with ties to Iron Man.
