Jeffrey Addiss, who co-created the new show The Boroughs, has addressed fan speculation about a connection to Stranger Things. The Boroughs, created with Will Matthews, centers on a retirement community where residents must unite to fight a dangerous, supernatural threat. The show features a talented cast including Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, and Bill Pullman. Because of the similar supernatural elements, some viewers have wondered if The Boroughs and Stranger Things exist within the same fictional universe.

The film Star Trek: Nemesis marked the end of both the Star Trek: The Next Generation movie series and the time spent together as a close-knit crew for Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and his team. By the film’s conclusion, three important members of Picard’s crew had left the USS Enterprise-E, each moving on for their own reasons.

As a lifelong Star Trek fan, I’ve always been fascinated by what the actors themselves thought of the show. Walter Koenig, who played Chekov, has said that “Spectre of the Gun” was his absolute favorite episode, which really surprised me at first. It’s not one of the usual picks, and it aired fairly late in the original series, but knowing that he loved it makes you look at it differently. It’s a really clever episode, basically a Star Trek take on a classic Western shootout, inspired by the famous gunfight at the O.K. Corral. His appreciation of it has definitely given the episode a new level of respect over the years.

It’s not only villains who get lost to time. Over the years, Spider-Man has seen many supporting characters, allies, and even past love interests fade into the background. When some of these forgotten faces reappear in stories set earlier in Spider-Man’s history, it mostly highlights how long it’s been since they mattered to the main story.
