Prime Video is home to some excellent sci-fi series, including popular shows like Fallout and The Expanse. However, like many streaming platforms, Prime Video has a tendency to cancel shows prematurely, before they can fully develop their stories. This happened to one particularly original sci-fi series that was strangely captivating and drew viewers in completely.
As a longtime viewer of Game of Thrones, I’ve definitely seen my share of trials by combat – Tyrion Lannister’s case springs immediately to mind. These are usually simple one-on-one duels, either between the accuser and accused, or champions fighting on their behalf if they can’t fight themselves. Honestly, if Dunk had won his fight, things would have likely been over. But Aerion Brightflame decided to make things much more complicated, choosing a fight with multiple knights on his side instead of a straightforward duel.
As a huge sci-fi fan, I’ve always loved how diverse the genre is. You can find everything from massive, sprawling shows like Lost to really focused, character-driven stories like Black Mirror. But for me, the truly great sci-fi shows build worlds that feel totally believable, even when they’re filled with futuristic tech. And honestly, if I’m looking for something to really binge-watch, I think Netflix has better sci-fi than most big-budget movies these days.
The next book in Shogakukan’s New Educational Manga Series will tell the life story of Hori, from his childhood to now. The book will spend several chapters detailing how he got into the gaming industry and the people he met while creating Dragon Quest. Akira Toriyama, the main artist for Dragon Quest, collaborated with Hori, creating the game’s characters and monsters.
Three years after the events of the series, Disney will conclude the story of Din and Grogu with a new movie, The Mandalorian and Grogu. A trailer was released in September, and it was confirmed the film would be featured in a Super Bowl ad in 2026. Many fans were hoping for a more extensive look at the movie, and were eager to find out if they would get one.
