Kiefer Sutherland Stars as a Washed-Up Actor in Tinsel Town Trailer

Kiefer Sutherland, known for his roles in popular shows like Designated Survivor and The Fugitive, is starring in a new holiday film. The first trailer for the movie, which also features Rebel Wilson, has just been released.

I just heard about a new film called Tinsel Town coming out November 28th! It stars Donald Sutherland as a former action star who’s fallen on hard times and takes a job acting in a Christmas pageant in a small English village. Apparently, he rediscovers the meaning of the holidays with the help of some pretty unique people – especially the choreographer – and it helps him reconnect with his daughter. I’m definitely checking out the trailer below, it sounds like a heartwarming story!

The trailer for Tinsel Town shows Donald Sutherland questioning his future as an actor, only to be told, “People don’t want to hire you.” He finds work at a theater in England, where he’ll star in a play over the holidays. There, he meets Rebel Wilson’s character, who tells him, “We’ve only got a few days to get this show on the road.”

Bradley Mack, played by Sutherland, is shocked by the quality of a local theater production, sarcastically asking if it’s a cheap version of Cats. Accustomed to the luxuries of Hollywood, he casually asks for a car, but a coworker playfully responds by saying he is a car. Meanwhile, Bradley discovers his ex-wife and daughter are living in England, giving him a chance to reconnect with his daughter after two years.

In a trailer for the film, Bradley’s daughter accuses him of being self-centered. He responds with surprise, asking, “What?” She continues, saying he’s always trying to escape his problems. The trailer ends with Bradley telling his daughter that being with her has been the best time of his life.

The cast of Tinsel Town includes Derek Jacobi (known for The War Master), Mawaan Rizwan (Sex Education), Maria Friedman (East Enders), Jason Manford (Waterloo Road), Asim Chaudhry (The Sandman), Danny Dyer (Rivals), Ray Fearon (Beauty and the Beast), Lucien Laviscount (Emily in Paris), and James Lance. Chris Foggin directed the film, building on his experience with holiday movies like This Is Christmas (2022), which is available on Sky and Prime Video. The screenplay was written by Frazer Flintham, Adam Brown, Piers Ashworth, and Jake Brunger, with production led by Matt Williams, Pascal Degove, and Ava Aashna Chopra.

Could There Be Another Season of 24?

Kiefer Sutherland recently shared some promising news about a potential revival of his hit show, 24. In an interview with Montreal Now with Aaron Rand in September 2025, he revealed that executive producer Howard Gordon has developed a compelling idea for a new season. Sutherland previously said he wouldn’t stand in the way of a continuation if good material emerged, and now, he confirms that a script has been written. He believes the new concept is “really good” and “really strong.”

Despite the possibility, Howard Gordon emphasized that a new season of 24 is still quite a ways off. He explained that ownership of the show shifted from Fox to Disney following the sale, meaning it needs to go through a different approval process. “I’d love to finish that story – it ended on a cliffhanger,” he said. “We’ve made good progress, so we’re hopeful it will happen.”

Tinsel Town hits theaters and PVOD on Nov. 28.
