Star Wars Fans’ Campaign to Save Ben Solo Movie Pulls Stunts, Sets Meetup

After reports emerged that a Ben Solo-focused movie was cancelled, Star Wars fans have been working to revive the idea.

What are fans doing to save the Star Wars: Ben Solo movie?

So, I recently found out something really interesting! Adam Driver – you know, Kylo Ren from the Star Wars sequels – apparently had a whole movie idea he pitched to Disney with Steven Soderbergh. They envisioned it as a sort of ‘Hunt for Ben Solo’ story, exploring what happened after The Rise of Skywalker. But, unfortunately, Disney’s Bob Iger and Alan Bergman weren’t feeling it and shut the project down pretty quickly. It’s a shame, I think it could have been a cool way to expand on his character!

Ever since Driver mentioned the possibility, Star Wars fans have been actively campaigning for a Ben Solo movie, hoping to get Disney to reconsider and revive the idea.

Fans have been actively searching for Ben Solo, and their efforts have included putting up missing person posters in New York City. A billboard in Times Square expressed hope that he’s still alive, and a plane flew over Disney Studios in California with a banner asking to “Save #TheHuntForBenSolo.”

Fans are rallying to revive “The Hunt for Ben Solo” and have even created a website to support the effort. The website’s message welcomes all Star Wars fans – whether they enjoy the original films, the prequels, the sequels, or expanded universe stories – and encourages them to join the campaign to convince Disney to move forward with the project.

A petition with more than 5,000 signatures is available on the website, urging fans to contact Disney and request a film focused on Ben Solo.

On November 8th, Star Wars fans are planning gatherings outside of the Disney Studios in California and Disney’s headquarters in New York City.

Adam Driver last portrayed Kylo Ren/Ben Solo in the 2019 film The Rise of Skywalker, where his character dies after bringing Rey back to life. Driver believes this death is the reason Disney’s Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy decided not to move forward with another film featuring the character.

“They didn’t see how Ben Solo was alive,” Driver said. “And that was that.”
