Abbott Elementary’s Best Halloween Episode Yet: Camping Trip Delights Fans

As a huge fan of Abbott Elementary, I have to say their Halloween specials are always amazing, but this year’s might be their best yet! Last year’s “Costume Contest” was already a standout episode, completely focused on the fun of Halloween costumes. But honestly, this new Halloween episode just takes the comedy to another level – I was laughing the whole time!

The staff of Abbott Elementary took their students camping for Halloween, a predictably chaotic decision. As with any good holiday episode, the teachers wore over-the-top costumes, leading to some of the show’s most hilarious scenes.

This episode is remarkably creative and easily ranks among the greatest Halloween specials ever created for television. At the very least, it’s the best Halloween episode from a comedy series we’ve seen this year.

An Abbott Elementary Halloween Costume Is The Center Of Attention Again

The hilarious dynamic between Melissa and Jacob remains a highlight of Abbott Elementary’s fifth season, and Jacob really shined in the recent Halloween episode. His costume – a spot-on Greta Thunberg, complete with pigtails – had viewers cracking up.

Jacob’s decision to wear a Palestinian keffiyeh scarf caused some debate. Some viewers interpreted it as a statement against Israel, while others felt it disrespected the cultural significance of the garment. However, most viewers seemed to enjoy the costume choice, and these concerns appeared to be shared by only a few.

The episode also featured some creative costumes: the school principal dressed up as “Darth Ma,” a fun combination of Darth Maul from Star Wars and the character “Ma” played by Octavia Spencer. Melissa’s costume was April O’Neil from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Janine & Gregory Wore TV’s Best Halloween Costumes Of 2024

The latest episode of Abbott Elementary, featuring Halloween costumes, continues the fun from last year’s highly-rated “Costume Contest.” This year, Janice and Gregory were the standouts, dressing as a mosquito trapped in amber and the Mr. DNA character from Jurassic Park.

Most of the other teachers at Abbott didn’t get the reference behind their costumes, but the lack of enthusiasm just made them feel more connected. The costume contest was a lot of fun, with the student judges offering some brutally honest opinions on the teachers’ outfits. Kindergarten teacher Barbara was particularly enthusiastic about Jacob dressing up as TV personality Pat Sajak.

Teachers’ Halloween Costumes Have Become A Key Tradition Of Abbott Elementary

The show has become well-known for its amazing Halloween costumes, often playfully poking fun at popular culture. Last year, the principal from Abbott Elementary dressed up as Marvel’s Blade, referencing the well-documented difficulties the franchise had been facing.

The costumes in the first Halloween episode, “Candy Zombies” from season 2, were fantastic. Janine’s James Harden costume was particularly clever and showed just how imaginative the writers of Abbott Elementary would become with future Halloween installments.

Since the school has hosted similar events for the past two years, it’s likely this will become a yearly tradition showcasing the teachers’ fun and creative side. If you enjoy Abbott Elementary, it’s a good idea to be familiar with current pop culture trends – you’ll definitely see references at next Halloween’s celebration.
