Disney & Hulu Just Merged With Another Streaming Service

Disney and Hulu are teaming up with a leading streaming service as they all compete to become the biggest player in the market, which is starting to resemble traditional cable TV. Interestingly, viewers probably won’t see any changes to their streaming services right away.

Disney is combining its Hulu live TV service with Fubo, a popular streaming service for live television. The combined service will have around 6 million subscribers in North America, putting it in direct competition with YouTube TV. However, Hulu + Live TV and Fubo will still operate as separate apps and services – the deal is primarily a business agreement where Disney will now own 70% of Fubo. Fubo’s CEO, David Gandler, has publicly welcomed the news.

For the past ten years, Fubo has been dedicated to creating a streaming service that puts the user first, focusing on new ideas and great value. By working with Disney, we’re building a more adaptable streaming world that offers viewers more options and helps our business grow steadily and successfully.

More to come.
