Industry source Daniel Richtman reports that Bill Skarsgård will first appear as Pennywise in the fifth episode of the new ‘It: Welcome to Derry’ series. With eight episodes total, this means Pennywise won’t be seen until the latter half of the show. The delayed introduction seems deliberate, likely to create suspense. However, Skarsgård’s demanding work schedule may also have played a role in the timing.
Barbara Muschietti, an executive producer on the show, previously told ScreenRant that they always wanted Pennywise to be a truly unpredictable villain. Brad Caleb Kane, the showrunner, added that the series will delve deeper into the creature’s different appearances and forms.
