Bring Her Back Challenges Weapons on HBO Max Streaming Charts

Only five months after hitting theaters, the scary new film Bring Her Back, directed by Australian filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou, is now available to stream.

According to FlixPatrol, the movie Bring Her Back is now the second most popular title on HBO Max in the U.S. The film, written by Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman, centers around step-siblings Andy and Piper, who find themselves orphaned and placed with their new, strangely unsettling foster mother, Laura. It explores the events that unfold after their father passes away.

Wong was thrilled to learn they’d been cast, saying it was a complete surprise and ‘so good.’ Despite being a moderately budgeted film, Bring Her Back did well in theaters. It opened with around $7.1 million in the U.S. and ultimately earned $19.3 million domestically, along with $19.8 million internationally, for a worldwide total of $39.1 million.

I’ve been hearing amazing things about Bring Her Back since it came out! Critics really seem to love it – it’s got an 89% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and audiences are enjoying it too, giving it a 79% rating. And if you liked this, you have to check out the filmmakers’ previous work, Talk to Me. It was great then, and it’s even back on HBO Max now that it’s spooky season!

Talk to Me Was Also A Hit For Danny and Michael Philippou

The director really wanted the film to feel realistic. They focused a lot on Mia (played by Sophie Wilde) and how emotionally vulnerable she was, showing how completely isolated she’d become. It’s really about watching her fall apart, and honestly, even though some people don’t seem to like her, I really feel for Mia and understand what she’s going through.

Bring Her Back and Talk to Me are streaming on HBO Max.
