The famous director is returning to acting with a major role – his biggest since the 1996 film From Dusk Till Dawn.

Quentin Tarantino is making a comeback as an actor! He’ll be starring in a new film called Only What We Carry, directed and written by Jamie Adams. The movie also features a talented cast including Simon Pegg, Sofia Boutella, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Liam Hellmann, and Lizzy McAlpine. Filming recently finished in Deauville, France, and the film is expected to be released around 2026.

The film Only What We Carry centers on Julian Johns, a former teacher played by Pegg, who is revisited by Charlotte Levant, one of his past students. Charlotte is forced to confront her past, and the situation is complicated by the arrival of Julian’s old friend, John Percy. Also involved are Charlotte’s sister, Josephine, an artist named Vincent torn between conflicting feelings, and a young dancer, Jacqueline, all of whom are compelled to deal with unresolved issues from their past.

Jamie Adams, the writer and director of Only What We Carry, has long dreamed of making a film in Normandy inspired by the style of Eric Rohmer. He envisioned working with a talented international team, and thanks to the flexibility of independent filmmaking, that dream became a reality. He expressed deep gratitude to the film’s cast and crew for making it happen.

What Else Is Next for Quentin Tarantino?

Although Quentin Tarantino’s film The Movie Critic appears to be on hold indefinitely, fans still have another new project to anticipate. He’s currently working on a film featuring Brad Pitt reprising his role as the stuntman from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Joining the cast of The Adventures of Cliff Booth are Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (known for Wonder Man), Elizabeth Debicki (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. III), and Scott Caan, a popular actor from Ocean’s Eleven. Carla Gugino, Holt McCallany, JB Tadena, Karren Karagulian, Corey Fogelmanis, and Timothy Olyphant also star. David Fincher is directing the film, based on a screenplay by Quentin Tarantino, who also produces with Brad Pitt, Stacey Sher, David Heyman, and Ceán Chaffin.

The acclaimed director, known for winning an Oscar, hasn’t shared details about his next film. He’s often talked about making ten films in total, and this would be his tenth. While it’s uncertain if he’ll follow through with that plan, he seems open to acting as a way to inspire new ideas. This news comes right before his wife, Daniella Pick Tarantino, is set to star in her first leading role in an upcoming movie.

Only What We Carry is currently expected to arrive in theaters sometime next year.
