The story of Z begins when Beth and her husband, Kevin, learn their son, Josh, has an imaginary friend named Z. At first, they aren’t concerned, but they soon notice troubling changes in Josh. Beth starts to investigate and uncovers a shocking truth.

This forces Beth to investigate her history, hoping to put an end to the violence caused by her friend. But Dr. Seager (McHattie) thinks a simpler, more logical explanation is at play.

Verdict on Z

Z is a scary thriller about a family who think their child’s imaginary friend is just a harmless game, until increasingly disturbing events prove otherwise.

The movie explores the familiar idea of imaginary friends, but with a dark twist. It centers on a family seemingly living a normal life, unaware of a frightening threat. While it offers some scares, the unsettling concept doesn’t quite land as effectively as in other films. Overall, it’s a decent short movie that delivers enough entertainment to be a good choice for a late-night watch.

Final ThoughtsZ is a solid late-night horror.
