First appearing almost forty years ago, Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ continued the popular Gundam series and significantly developed its overarching storyline. Now, the show’s most powerful mobile suit is being released as a high-quality model kit, and it will be available soon.
I recently got a look at the upcoming MG 1/100 Full Armor ZZ Gundam Ver. Ka, and it’s really impressive! It brings this powerful mobile suit to life in a way we haven’t seen before, and follows some early teasers. As part of the Master Grade line, it’s incredibly posable and accurately recreates the look of the heavy armor from the anime. It’s scheduled for release next year, and I think it’s great that this often-overlooked mobile suit is finally getting the attention it deserves.
Gundam ZZ’s Coolest Mecha Finally Joins Bandai’s Master Grade Gunpla Model Kit Line
The MG 1/100 Full Armor ZZ Gundam Ver.Ka is a detailed model kit of the powerful mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. It’s part of Bandai’s Version Katoki line, known for designs supervised by Hajime Katoki, a long-time artist for the Gundam series. This kit captures the ZZ Gundam’s ability to change configurations seen in the anime, letting you display it with full armor or as the sleeker Enhanced ZZ Gundam. It’s highly poseable, especially in the arms, allowing it to hold its large Double Beam Rifle. It also comes with other weapons like the Hyper Mega Cannon and beam sabers, plus stickers and decals to make it look just like it does in the show.
This kit includes the hands and wires you’ll need to expertly display the model. While all the features and accessories for the MG 1/100 Full Armor ZZ Gundam Ver.Ka haven’t been fully revealed yet, we expect to see them in the coming months. It will cost around $86 (12,540 yen) and is scheduled for release in February 2026. Interestingly, this timing coincides with the 40th anniversary of the original Gundam ZZ anime, which first aired in 1986. Gundam ZZ followed Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, also celebrating its 40th anniversary, making it the third installment in the series.
