A recent Netflix post has reignited the debate among DC fans about the future of the “SnyderVerse.” When Netflix France shared a picture of Henry Cavill as Superman and Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam to announce the 2022 film’s availability on their service, fans quickly took to social media to ask for the SnyderVerse to be revived.
Fans want Netflix to restore the SnyderVerse if it gets DC ownership
It all started when Netflix France shared a post about the movie Black Adam, showing Henry Cavill as Superman and Dwayne Johnson as the anti-hero, and asked fans who would win in a fight. The post became very popular online, and many fans started a campaign asking Netflix to revive the ‘SnyderVerse’ if they were to buy the rights to DC films.
Fans are passionately urging Netflix to allow Zack Snyder to complete his Justice League storyline. One user even jokingly offered their life in exchange, while another simply requested the completion of the planned Justice League sequels.
One user chimed in with “#RestoreTheSnyderVerse and let’s see what happens.” Another commented that it’s been nearly five years since the Snyder Cut was released, but the world inspired by his films remains popular, with things like Lego sets, action figures, and references in other media. They expressed enthusiasm for this continued interest.
For years, fans have used the hashtag #SellSnyderVerseToNetflix, hoping to get the DC films directed by Zack Snyder moved to Netflix. Recently, rumors gained traction when Bloomberg reported that Paramount Skydance offered $20 per share to buy Warner Bros. Discovery, but the offer was rejected.
So, it turns out a bunch of companies have been sniffing around, wanting to buy us! We’ve officially confirmed that we’ve gotten offers, and apparently, even Netflix and Comcast are interested. Basically, we’re taking a good, hard look at all our options – everything from a potential sale to other ways to maximize what we’ve built. We want to make sure we do what’s best for everyone involved and get the most value out of everything we’ve created. (I read about this in The Hollywood Reporter.)
I’m hearing rumors that the studio might be sold, and honestly, it’s got a lot of fans like me really excited! We’re all hoping a new owner would let Zack Snyder finish his original vision for the Justice League – it would be amazing to see his story completed.
