Elizabeth Olsen has been thinking about her time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When asked about the future of her character, Scarlet Witch, after the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, she didn’t give a clear answer about whether the character survived.
Fans are excited about the possibility of Elizabeth Olsen returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch. Director Matt Shakman has hinted at her potential return, fueling online speculation – particularly about her appearing in a future ‘Avengers’ film called ‘Doomsday’.
What did Elizabeth Olsen say about the possible MCU return?
Although it’s unclear what will happen to her character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Elizabeth Olsen has expressed wanting to reprise her role as Scarlet Witch. When InStyle asked if she believes Scarlet Witch is still alive, Olsen playfully replied, “I have no idea.”
She described working in the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the years as “ridiculous” in the best way. She explained it felt like being a kid again, pretending and having fun with fantastical elements like flying and using superpowers. After playing the character for a decade, she said she enjoys both stepping away from the role and then wanting to return to it, and she’d happily play the character again if given the chance.
She explained that the movie features incredibly dynamic camera work, impressive stunts, and real-time visual effects. It takes a huge amount of coordination, with hundreds of people collaborating on set, and being part of that unified effort is really special. She also emphasized that the visual effects team are true artists.
Elizabeth Olsen is well known for playing Wanda Maximoff in several films and TV shows. Following her appearance in the 2022 movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, she’s taken on roles in projects outside of the superhero world, such as His Three Daughters, The Assessment, and Love & Death. Her next film, the A24 romantic comedy Eternity, will be released in theaters on November 26th.
