Marvel Revives Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa for One Final MCU Cameo

Marvel Studios recently honored the late Chadwick Boseman and his character, T’Challa, with a touching farewell in their latest Disney+ series. While the movie *Black Panther: Wakanda Forever* showed T’Challa’s passing within the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Boseman’s tragic death, this new show provided a send-off that the movies couldn’t.

The latest episode of the adult animated series *Marvel Zombies* begins by revisiting T’Challa, Spider-Man, and Scott Lang after the zombie outbreak from Season 1 of *What If…?*. The episode shows how T’Challa and his team encountered Thanos in Wakanda, and T’Challa ultimately made a brave and selfless choice.

Before heroes like Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Ant-Man reached Wakanda, a zombie Thanos had already collected five of the six Infinity Stones. Even with the help of Rocket, Groot, and Thor, they couldn’t defeat him – he was simply too strong.

T’Challa attacked Thanos, and they fought for a moment, but Thanos was too strong for the Black Panther. Thanos easily took the Mind Stone from T’Challa, completing his Infinity Gauntlet.

Everyone expected Thanos to win, but T’Challa bravely gave his life to protect people.

Even though Thanos was incredibly powerful, T’Challa bravely attacked him again. This time, he channeled the energy stored in his suit directly into Thanos, momentarily forcing him back.

Just moments before, Thanos had torn open the ground in Wakanda, revealing the molten Vibranium at its heart. Realizing this, T’Challa pushed Thanos back towards the opening. But to make sure Thanos fell into the core and ended his destructive rule, T’Challa bravely jumped in after him.

T’Challa’s death was a heartbreaking loss, but it provided a fitting end to his story. He made the ultimate sacrifice, giving his life to protect everyone, much like Peter Parker described.

T’Challa’s death in the film was a fitting and moving tribute to both Chadwick Boseman, the actor who played him, and the character’s lasting impact. It showed T’Challa making the ultimate sacrifice for others. Importantly, Marvel Studios decided not to find another actor to play T’Challa, honoring Boseman’s legacy by not recasting the role in *Marvel Zombies*.

You can watch all episodes of *Marvel Zombies* on Disney+. Throughout the series, a significant number of major characters – around two dozen – meet their end.

Will T’Challa Ever Return in the MCU?

A major topic of discussion among Marvel fans is whether to revive the character of T’Challa in future films. There are valid points on both sides of the argument, but Marvel Studios will eventually need to decide what to do.

Many fans feel it would be respectful to the late Chadwick Boseman to not bring T’Challa back, and instead focus on his sister, Shuri, as the Black Panther for a while. The idea is that Shuri could eventually pass the mantle on to someone else, potentially T’Challa’s son who was featured in *Black Panther: Wakanda Forever*.

As a fan, I’ve seen a lot of discussion about how Marvel could handle T’Challa going forward. Some people think they should bring in another actor to play a version of him from across the Multiverse. There are just so many great stories they could tell with T’Challa, and a lot of us believe Marvel could recast the role while still honoring Chadwick Boseman and everything he brought to it.

There’s been a lot of talk about whether T’Challa will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Some people are speculating that an actor like Damson Idris could take on the role, maybe even for the upcoming *Avengers: Secret Wars* movie. But until Marvel officially confirms anything, it’s all just speculation.
