Viewers of Hulu’s animated comedy, Solar Opposites, are wondering what will happen next in the series.
Following six seasons of the popular show starring Korvo, Terry, and the Pupa, the story has come to an end, leaving fans wondering if it will return for a seventh season.
Is Solar Opposites Canceled or Renewed for Season 7?
Unfortunately, there won’t be a seventh season of the show. Hulu has confirmed that Season 6, which began airing on October 13, 2025, will be the last one. According to co-creator Mike McMahan, they wanted to end the series on a high note and avoid prolonging the story just for the sake of it.
Co-creator Mike McMahan explained that while they could have continued Solar Opposites beyond Season 6, a lack of funding would have meant a significantly scaled-back production. He emphasized the need for the artists to be able to support themselves. Although the series is ending, McMahan hinted that they’ve left the possibility of future stories open.
Josh Bycel, an executive producer on the show, explained that the team didn’t initially realize Season 6 would be the final one. Despite this, they successfully tied up all the major plot threads, including those involving the Silver Cops and the Wall, while still focusing on the Solars. Bycel described the season as a satisfying conclusion to the show’s first phase, neatly resolving many issues but also hinting at potential future stories.
As a huge ‘Solar Opposites’ fan, I was so excited to hear Thomas Middleditch, who voices Terry, talk about the final season. He basically said we’re getting *everything* we’ve loved about the show – the wild humor, the surprisingly sweet moments, and storylines that really know when to end, and when to leave you wanting more. Sounds like a truly great send-off!
If you missed the last episode, you can watch all of Season 6 now on Hulu and Disney+.
Season 6 brings all the main stories to a close, covering everything from the mystery of the Pupa to the aliens’ struggles with life on Earth, and what’s happening with the people around them.
