MAPPA’s new anime series, , released in January 2023, quickly gained popularity both in Japan and around the world. The voice actor Yuma Uchida even said the incredibly realistic food shown in the anime made him feel hungry while he was recording his lines.
Recently, voice actor Uchida discussed the highly anticipated second season of the anime series. The show first aired in Japan on October 7th and features Uchida as Tsuyoshi Mukoda, a man who escapes his ordinary office job to cook amazing meals in a fantasy world. Uchida explained that the anime is designed like a real cooking show, with Mukoda carefully demonstrating each cooking step. Season 1 often highlighted the food itself, really showcasing the textures and flavors of every ingredient.
Campfire Cooking in Another World Season 2 Is Fall 2025’s Biggest Isekai Anime Series
In the new season, Mukoda finds himself in a strange situation: he has unlimited access to an online supermarket filled with ingredients unavailable in his world. Animator Uchida, reflecting on the first season, was particularly impressed with how realistically the show depicted food, especially meat. He praised the animation’s ability to convey juiciness and highlighted the Rockbird Okyadon from Episode 6 as a standout. He was amazed by how convincingly they animated the soft, runny texture of the egg, saying it looked incredibly delicious and made him hungry!
Many Japanese viewers agree with Uchida, praising the anime’s incredibly detailed and appealing food. Online, people jokingly called the series “food terrorism” – especially because it aired late at night! The show even ranked second in an official Japanese survey. Currently, Season 2 is the top-rated isekai anime on MyAnimeList for the entire Fall 2025 season. Uchida remembers that the realistic food preparation on set often distracted the crew. The food supervisor, nicknamed ‘Bucks,’ filmed the actual cooking process, which was inspiring. Uchida could hear staff members commenting on how delicious everything looked, and she enjoyed the fun, positive atmosphere while recording her lines.
Kenji Uchida, a cooking enthusiast, created new recipes specifically for the anime series. He even prepared “Red Boar’s Ginger Pork” during the Season 1 announcement of *Campfire Cooking in Another World*, giving fans a preview of the food they’d see. Uchida confessed he doesn’t usually eat ginger pork – he prefers fried chicken! – but making the dish for the series showed him how good it could be as a main course.
Season 2 of *Campfire Cooking in Another World* will bring back fan-favorite characters from the first season, including Fel, a wolf-like monster, and Dora, a charming pixie dragon. According to Uchida, Fel’s appetite has grown even bigger, and the gods are as impressive as ever. They all team up to playfully harass Mukoda, demanding food, creating a hilarious group scene that viewers won’t want to miss.
Campfire Cooking in Another World With My Absurd Skill Season 2 premiered on Oct. 7, 2025.
