Jacob Elordi is the main focus in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein. Netflix recently shared a new poster showing his dramatic change into the Creature. This reveal happened right before the movie’s trailer is set to launch. The trailer suggests the film will build upon the well-known story by Mary Shelley and showcase del Toro’s unique style.
Jacob Elordi’s Frankenstein gets new look in poster ahead of trailer
Netflix has revealed a new poster for Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein. Jacob Elordi is shown as the Creature, sporting a fur-lined coat and displaying a pale, scarred face. The poster officially announces the release dates: October 17 in certain cinemas and November 7 on Netflix. It also highlights the key actors in the film, including Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, and Elordi.
The film is based on Mary Shelley’s well-known story, and Guillermo del Toro presents a new take on Victor Frankenstein, portraying him as both a scientist and an artist. Del Toro stated in August 2025, “Ever since I started drawing the creature in the late ’70s and early ’80s, I knew I didn’t want symmetric scars and I didn’t want sutures or clamps.” He clarified that he envisioned the creature’s design to be similar to “a jigsaw puzzle” and continued, “I wanted him to look beautiful, like a newborn thing” (via Variety). He also shared that the monster’s body parts might come from a battlefield, which shaped how he connected the corpses.
Previous teasers showed Elordi’s monster covered in furs, set against a snowy backdrop. The latest poster now gives us a clearer look at his stitched-together face and a visible hand. According to reports, the character appears to be made up of many faces layered with muscle. A single, red eye can be seen peeking out from under his hair. This design is a departure from how Frankenstein’s monster is usually portrayed. More details are expected soon.
The film stars Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, Christian Convery, Charles Dance, and Christoph Waltz. The narrative centers on Victor Frankenstein, a highly intelligent but self-centered scientist, and his creation of a monster that leads to the downfall of both creator and creature.
Netflix announced on its official account that the complete trailer will be released on October 2nd, before the series premieres this fall.
