Before the show comes back in 2026, it’s been revealed that not every beloved character from Daredevil: Born Again will be featured in the second season of the Disney+ reboot. The superhero series, which premiered earlier this year, has earned a “Certified Fresh” rating of 87% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 223 reviews. However, this is still 5% less than the score the original show’s first season received.
Who isn’t returning in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?
Even though he died unexpectedly in Season 1, a lot of viewers still wanted to see Foggy Nelson return, and many came up with ideas about how the show could make that happen. Recently, at the Daredevil panel during LA Comic Con, Elden Henson finally talked about whether he might be back as Foggy in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Sadly, Henson quickly dismissed the rumors, confirming that he won’t be playing Foggy in the upcoming season.
“I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it’s just not happening,” he said.
Daredevil: Born Again is overseen by showrunner Dario Scardapane, and executive producers Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, among others. The series features a strong cast including Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Margarita Levieva as Heather, Genneya Walton as BB Urich, Nikki M. James as Kirsten, Clark Johnson as Cherry, and Michael Gandolfini as Daniel.
Season 2 will feature new actors Matthew Lillard and Lili Taylor, as well as Krysten Ritter, who is returning as Jessica Jones. This marks her first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following the conclusion of the three-season Netflix show in 2019. With Ritter now cast, fans are wondering if other members of The Defenders might also appear in Season 2, such as Mike Colter as Luke Cage and Finn Jones as Iron Fist.
