In the sixth episode of Peacemaker Season 2, titled “Ignorance Is Chris,” Nicholas Hoult returned as the character Lex Luthor.
The latest episode featured the first appearance of a Superman villain during a scene at Belle Reve Prison. Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo) went to see him seeking assistance. Nicholas Hoult, as Lex Luthor, greeted Flag with sarcasm, saying, “General Flag, this is a surprise. You used to say metahumans weren’t a threat, but now it looks like they’re taking over the world.”
The conversation revealed that Luthor received a 265-year prison sentence. Rick Flag then proposed a deal: if Luthor helped find Peacemaker, Flag would arrange a transfer for him to a prison that doesn’t house people with superpowers. Luthor didn’t see Peacemaker as a serious threat, dismissing him as just a silly vigilante, but Flag presented the deal as a chance for Luthor to make amends.
