I grew up loving Batman, starting with the classic *Batman: The Animated Series*. Though I’ll always appreciate Mark Hamill’s iconic portrayal of the Joker in that era, Two-Face is still my favorite villain. I particularly liked Josh Duhamel’s performance as Two-Face in the animated film *Batman: The Long Halloween*, and he’s expressed interest in playing the role again in a future live-action DC movie or TV series.
During an interview with actor Duhamel about his new film, *London Calling* – currently showing in theaters as part of the 2025 movie lineup – CBR inquired if he’d consider playing Two-Face in a live-action project. He then explained what drew him to the idea.
This character is really interesting because he has such a strong contrast between two sides of his personality. It was a fun challenge to find his voice initially, and then even more surprisingly, I had to revisit and rediscover it months later. I’d almost forgotten that process! What makes this role so enjoyable is exploring that duality – he presents one way, but there’s a much darker side underneath. I’m hoping we get to see that explored further.
Based on the popular comic book by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, *The Long Halloween* tells the tragic story of Harvey Dent’s descent into villainy. Originally released in two parts after some delays due to *The Batman* movie, it shows how Batman (voiced by Jensen Ackles) tries to stop a serial killer known as Holiday while also battling Gotham’s criminal underworld. Initially determined to clean up the city and assist Batman, Harvey Dent is horribly scarred, ultimately transforming into the villain Two-Face. *The Long Halloween* is considered one of the best films in the Tomorrowverse, largely thanks to a strong performance by Josh Duhamel as Harvey Dent.
Looking at Josh Duhamel’s previous roles, I think he’d be a strong contender to play Two-Face in a live-action movie. He’s already shown he understands the character’s contrasting sides, and we’ve seen actors successfully move from voice work to on-screen roles before – like Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan in *Star Wars* and Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr. in the DC Universe. Duhamel could easily be next.

HBO Max offers plans starting at $9.99 per month. It’s a great choice for fans of Batman and DC content, and provides access to a vast library of movies, shows, documentaries, and more. Check out their current deals here.
There are two main ways to integrate Josh Duhamel’s Two-Face into the DC Universe: either as part of the main DC storyline or within the separate ‘Batman’ crime saga. Adding him to the ‘Batman’ saga seems more likely, potentially in a sequel to ‘The Batman: Part II’ – either ‘Part III’ or a spin-off show like ‘The Penguin’. While we don’t know when the DC Universe’s Batman will appear in ‘The Brave and the Bold’, that version is expected to be an older Batman, and Duhamel’s age could be a good fit.
Right now, this is just speculation, but I really loved John DiMaggio’s performance in *Batman: The Long Halloween*, and I’d love to see him play Two-Face in a live-action movie or show. Unfortunately, *The Long Halloween* isn’t currently available for streaming, but you can find a lot of other Batman content on HBO Max.
