The reality show *Catfish* delivered some incredibly memorable television, becoming more famous than the film that started it all. However, after nine seasons, MTV has decided to cancel the series.
That was an incredible run for the series, and it definitely has the potential to continue if given the chance. According to Variety, the show could be picked up by another network, and I believe it would be a great fit for TLC.
Why TLC Would Be The Perfect Network For Catfish
Considering TLC’s 2025 lineup, it’s clear that *Catfish: The TV Show* would be a great addition. The network already features a lot of reality TV focused on relationships between people from different walks of life. If *Catfish* returned on TLC, alongside a well-chosen companion show, I think it would easily find a built-in audience.
With TLC now owning *Catfish: The TV Show*, all seasons might become available to stream on HBO Max. This would be great for fans who stopped watching when it was on MTV, like me – I still enjoyed the show, but just stopped watching that channel altogether.

We Need Nev Schulman On 90 Day Fiancé
Since bringing back *Catfish: The TV Show* might not happen, maybe Nev Schulman could appear in a new show related to *90 Day Fiancé*. Several people from that show have been catfished before, and some couples, like Jenny and Sumit Singh, even got married to someone they initially met while being catfished.

I Can’t Believe The Wild Reason MTV’s Catfish Had To Scrap An Otherwise Heartwarming Episode
TLC already has a lot of shows related to *90 Day Fiancé*, but Nev Schulman definitely deserves his own. He’s well-known for exposing catfishing, and unfortunately, it’s still a common problem. It likely happens even more in international relationships, and I’d be fascinated to hear more about those situations and the reasons behind them. He could have really helped someone like Tyray Mollett avoid a lot of heartache during that difficult time.
Whether *Catfish: The TV Show* ends up on TLC or another network, I’d be okay with whatever happens. It’s simply a really valuable show that deserves to continue, especially considering the help it offers people navigating online dating. I think anyone who uses dating apps should watch a few episodes – it’s a great way to learn how to spot scams and protect themselves. It’s actually funny that the show originally gained popularity by using a bit of a ‘catfish’ tactic to attract viewers, so maybe that same approach could help it find a new home on TV.
We’re waiting to hear where *Catfish: The TV Show* will end up as the producers look for a new network or streaming service to air it. I’m hoping TLC picks it up, but honestly, I’d just be glad to see it continue somewhere.
