Star Wars is a hugely popular franchise that many people grew up with. The story has continued to evolve with new shows on Disney+, and now the original movies are coming back to theaters alongside *The Mandalorian* and Grogu. It’s a surprising and delightful turn of events – I never expected to see Sigourney Weaver interacting with Baby Yoda!
Details about the upcoming *The Mandalorian* and Grogu project are scarce, making this first look incredibly exciting for fans. The popular characters are moving from streaming to the big screen, and excitement is building. Along with a scene of Weaver seemingly interacting with Grogu, the preview also features impressive action sequences, including the destruction of an AT-AT – a large armored vehicle.
The trailer begins with Din Djarin and Grogu, now working together on missions. Grogu has grown and is learning to use the Force. The trailer shows them as a strong team, and also features a heartwarming reunion between Grogu and the beloved Star Wars character, Babu Frik.

Following the heartwarming moment with Jack Weaver as Ward, the trailer showcases glimpses of the epic journey ahead for *The Mandalorian and Grogu*. We see Din Djarin battling in a cantina, a strange creature emerging from the water, and Grogu assisting his father in fights and even helping to pilot the ship. It’s clear Grogu is growing up and doesn’t need rescuing anymore!
Viewers who enjoyed *Star Wars Rebels* will be glad to see Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios back in action in this preview. After a quick cameo in *The Mandalorian*, he appears to have a more significant role in the new *Star Wars* film. This movie, along with the series *Ahsoka*, means fans are finally getting to see those animated characters brought to life in live action.

Early footage is scarce, which is expected since Lucasfilm is keeping most of the movie under wraps until closer to its May release. However, this initial glimpse did reveal one exciting moment: an AT-AT being destroyed. Fans remember how difficult that was to accomplish in *The Empire Strikes Back* – but Luke didn’t have the assistance of a certain popular green alien, perhaps the second most beloved after Yoda.
