When asked about her middle name, Reese Witherspoon confessed it was a tough one, before finally sharing the answer with her friend.

- Jennifer Aniston (JA): Jean?
- RW: That’s confusing. I’m Laura Jean.
- JA: Laura Jean?
- RW: That’s my real name.
- JA: Laura?
- RW: Laura Jean.
It’s really funny that Jennifer Aniston was surprised to learn “Reese” isn’t actually Reese Witherspoon’s first name! The confusion didn’t stop there, and the *Friends* actress then said:
Who is Laura? Wait, is it Laura Jean? Forget I said anything – I’m definitely not calling her that! Seriously, don’t even think about me saying ‘Laura Jean!’
Reese Witherspoon, known for her role in *Legally Blonde*, shared that her full name is actually Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon, but she’s always preferred being called Reese. She then playfully shifted the conversation to Jennifer Aniston, asking about her full name and sparking a cute back-and-forth between the two actresses.

- JA: Joanna.
- RW: What?
- JA: Joanna.
- RW: I was today years old.
- JA: Yeah.
- RW: No.
- JA: You were what?
- RW: I was today years old when I learned your real name.

- RW: Yes! Jennifer Joanna. JJ! Does anybody call you JJ?
- JA: Mm-mm.
- RW: Well, I do now.
It’s surprising, considering they’ve been friends and worked together on and off for 25 years, but JJ recently discovered something new about Laura Jean. Reese Witherspoon also shared with her that she hasn’t performed in front of a live studio audience at all since her time on *Friends*.

She described appearing in those two episodes of Season 6 as one of the most frightening experiences of her life, and confessed she later regretted turning down the opportunity to return to *Friends*. She explained she was simply too afraid to go back.
