There’s good news for fans of Marvel’s Netflix shows on Disney+. Reports suggest a third season of *Daredevil: Born Again* is being planned. This Disney+ series continues the story of *Daredevil*, which originally ran for three seasons on Netflix between 2015 and 2018. After Netflix cancelled the show, Marvel Studios regained the rights and has now rebooted *Daredevil* for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing back the original cast.
Marvel Studios is clearly confident in the future of *Daredevil: Born Again*. They started planning a second season even before the first one was released, and now, according to Nexus Point News, they’re reportedly beginning preparations for a third season before Season 2 is even officially renewed. If approved, Season 3 would likely start filming in March 2026 and finish shooting by summer. However, whether the show gets a third season ultimately depends on how viewers respond to Season 2, which is expected to premiere in Spring 2026.
Nexus Point News says that Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, who play Daredevil and Kingpin respectively, are signed on for three seasons of the new *Daredevil: Born Again* series, which is a good indication the show could continue beyond that. However, Marvel Studios would need to negotiate new contracts with the actors if they want to make more seasons after the initial three.
The series *Daredevil: Born Again* picks up where the previous Netflix show left off, with Matt Murdock returning to fighting crime as a vigilante after Wilson Fisk becomes mayor. The first season, consisting of nine episodes, debuted on Disney+ on March 4, 2025. Dario Scardapane is the showrunner, and the main cast includes Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, Deborah Ann Woll, and Margarita Levieva.
Daredevil: Born Again Has a Promising Future on Disney+
Most Marvel shows on Disney+ haven’t gotten renewed for a second season, so a third season of *Daredevil: Born Again* would be a first for live-action Marvel TV on the platform. This is great news for fans, suggesting they can get invested in these characters knowing the stories will continue for a while.
The Netflix series featuring Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, The Punisher, and Iron Fist were very popular with viewers, and Marvel Studios now seems interested in bringing those characters and stories into the main Marvel Cinematic Universe. We’ve already seen Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio return as Daredevil in the new series *Daredevil: Born Again*, and Krysten Ritter will be back as Jessica Jones in Season 2, suggesting we might see the original Defenders team reunite as the shows go on.
If viewers continue to enjoy *Daredevil: Born Again*, it could open the door for other Marvel characters from the Netflix series to reappear. We might even get some clues about this at New York Comic-Con. Ultimately, this could help Disney+ rebuild the interconnected Marvel universe that Netflix originally created.
