The upcoming movie titled “Avengers: Doomsday” is shrouded in secrecy regarding its storyline. Despite this mystery, the impressive cast suggests that the narrative will probably revolve around a clash between various superheroes and Doctor Doom. This conflict was significant in the recent “One World Under Doom” storyline, and a power upgrade of one Fantastic Four member may hint at how that battle might be resolved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
In the seventh issue of One World Under Doom, penned by Ryan North and illustrated by R.B. Silva, we delve deeper into Doctor Doom’s domination of Earth. With his innovative creations and seizing the title of Sorcerer Supreme, Doom has been unstoppable against challenges posed by the Fantastic Four. As a result, the Fantastic Four, joined forces with the Avengers and X-Men, prepare for one last assault.
As a film enthusiast, I can’t help but marvel at Doctor Doom’s foresight in anticipating our heroes’ moves and having countermeasures ready. Yet, even he didn’t see Reed Richards’ grand scheme coming – using this battle as a smokescreen for his ultimate attack. But what really caught him off guard was the ingenious device Mister Fantastic came up with to finally put an end to his reign!
What did Fantastic Four’s Reed Richards create to take on Doctor Doom?
Amidst the heated conflict, Doctor Doom mysteriously ended up on the Astral Plane, where Mr. Fantastic had been patiently waiting for him. The latter acknowledged that the sole edge Doom held over him was his comprehension of magic, a domain Reed Richards found difficult to grasp due to his logical mindset. Yet, he managed to analyze the magic Doom used and translate it into scientific terms. This paved the way for him to develop his own brand of science-based sorcery.
Doctor Doom conceded that manipulating the Astral Plane without inherent psychic abilities was an extraordinary accomplishment. Yet, Richard’s strategy contained a major weakness. His blend of magic and science relied on understanding spells that Doom himself had devised. Given this connection, Doom was well-versed in their composition. Consequently, he had already prepared countermeasures for these spells if they were ever directed towards him.
In the story One World Under Doom, the strategy of the Fantastic Four’s leader does not succeed, yet this struggle may provide a glimpse into how a similar confrontation could be victoriously resolved in Avengers: Doomsday. It appears that an inevitable showdown between Mister Fantastic and Doctor Doom is on the horizon. If such a face-off occurs, Richards might require an unforeseen advantage to triumph over his formidable adversary.
