As a devoted movie buff, I’ve been reminiscing about the time when “Modern Family” graced our screens five years ago. Even though it’s ended, the Tucker-Pritchett-Dunphy clan has maintained an unbreakable bond off-camera that rivals any TV family. They’ve gathered for reunions, officiated weddings, and even supported each other in unexpected ways like attending school productions – proving that their connection transcends the small screen.
This unique kinship was on full display recently when Eric Stonestreet tied the knot. His on-screen spouse, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, along with other celebrity friends, took to social media to extend their heartfelt congratulations. It’s a testament to the strong friendship they’ve forged behind the scenes!
Stonestreet, who portrayed Cameron Tucker-Pritchett on the ABC sitcom for all 11 seasons, took to his Instagram early on September 9, which is also his birthday, to share that he got a very special gift, and that gift is marriage. He posted some sweet photos from the ceremony with longtime partner Lindsay Schweitzer, and it seems like quite the fairytale wedding:

I eagerly joined the chorus of well-wishers, rushing to comment on the post, expressing my heartfelt congratulations to Stonestreet and his new spouse. Among those who also expressed their best wishes was Ferguson, my on-screen husband from Modern Family. His comment, referencing our beloved on-screen relationship, stood out as particularly poignant and meaningful.
Of all second marriages, this one is my favorite! I love you both! I’m so happy for you!!!!😍😍
In contrast to what Ferguson’s remark might suggest, Modern Family fans are aware that Cam and Mitch were legally married before, despite appearances. However, their wedding in Season 5 finale was less than perfect initially, but by the end of the day and the episode, they managed to have a beautifully ideal ceremony, thanks to each other.
It’s safe to say that the Stonestreets likely had a fantastic, fire-free day, one that seemed as idyllic as always. Ferguson’s comment added to their joy, and many other celebrities joined in with congratulatory messages. Among them were another Modern Family cast member and the co-creator.
- Steve Levitan: So happy for you both!!!! ❤️❤️
- Rico Rodriguez: 🥳🥳🥳
- Octavia Spencer: Congratulations! So happy for you both.
- Carrie Preston: Happy Birthday🥳!!!
- Will Sasso: CONGRATS!! ❤️❤️
- Jenny McCarthy: Congrats!
Eric Stonestreet’s schedule has been packed, and it isn’t merely wedding preparations keeping him occupied. In his latest endeavor, titled “Dexter: Resurrection“, available on Paramount+, Stonestreet portrays a character far from admirable as he takes on the role of a suspected serial killer. This transition from his role in “Modern Family” to that in “Dexter: Resurrection” underscores his acting versatility.
Viewing his genuine wedding photographs in person enhances the enjoyment of watching him portray various roles on-screen, making it even more enjoyable.
It’s likely that Stonestreet has received numerous heartfelt greetings and congratulations from both his real-life famous peers and the “Modern Family” cast, but it’s always delightful to catch a glimpse of these messages, particularly when they come from his on-screen romantic partner. Now, I’m inclined to revisit Cam and Mitch’s wedding scene with my Hulu account, as their nuptials always seem so unconventional and unique – qualities that truly make the occasion memorable.
