Currently, there’s an ongoing issue with extensive construction barriers at Walt Disney World, affecting a significant portion of several parks. As a result, about three out of every four Walt Disney World parks are partially or fully closed for maintenance and construction. More recently, new construction walls have appeared in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Construction progresses at the two expansive enclosed sections, situated side by side in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Specifically, they are located opposite each other where Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge intersect.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is seeing more construction barriers popping up as they undertake several renovation projects. Recently, additional construction barriers have been set up near Savi’s Workshop within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and along the path connecting Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge to Toy Story Land, suggesting that work is still in progress in these areas.
The specific function and reason behind this particular building are still unknown, since Disney hasn’t disclosed any official information about it yet.
Construction Developments Near Savi’s Workshop
Installing these partition walls at Galaxy’s Edge hints that the tasks could involve upgrading infrastructure or bettering the Disney World visitor experience within this part of the amusement park.

The visible alterations, notably the absence of concrete in some guest areas, might suggest routine maintenance or minor renovations. Given the size of the space, it’s uncertain if these are extensive changes. Until we receive official information, the true purpose of these modifications remains conjectural.
Seating Expansion at Toy Story Land Entrance
At Toy Story Land’s main entrance, new barriers have popped up, especially surrounding the space where strollers were previously parked. Some people think this could mean Disney is planning to enlarge seating areas to make guests more at ease. Although these walls suggest construction is happening, Disney hasn’t shared specifics about what’s being built or when it will be finished yet.

Back in October 2024, Disney revealed plans for Woody’s Lunch Box expansion, focusing on boosting seating capacity. This move required the whole seating area to be shut down while construction teams installed new concrete across the space. To cater to guests during this period, temporary seating was set up at the entrance of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – complete with tables and umbrellas as an alternative dining option.
Construction walls recently spotted near the entry of Toy Story Land might signal an ongoing expansion of the seating area or perhaps a fresh phase in the project. Nonetheless, as Disney hasn’t provided any official details yet, the exact nature and purpose of the current construction work remains undefined.
Existing Construction Already Underway in Hollywood Studios
This adds to the construction walls already at Disney Hollywood Studios.
Construction barriers have been set up around the route leading to Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s, which all temporarily closed on June 7, 2025, in preparation for the arrival of the new Monsters, Inc.-themed area. Nearby, artists’ renderings have been hung up on fresh walls, offering sneak peeks at Monstropolis, the door vault roller coaster, Harryhausen’s (previously Mama Melrose’s), and the Monstro-also known as “The Glob”-theater.

Currently, across Disney’s Hollywood Studios and indeed, throughout Walt Disney World, there is a noticeable increase in construction sites. These locations are either being revamped, re-imagined, or expanded. Consequently, explorers at these parks will encounter numerous construction areas, making them a common sight almost everywhere you look.
Magic Kingdom: Frontierland and Main Street in Transition
The building progress at Magic Kingdom is significantly advancing, particularly in Frontierland. What was previously open space along the Rivers of America is now enclosed by walls, with these barriers stretching beyond the line for the Haunted Mansion and entering Frontierland.

The area including Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat is temporarily closed due to upcoming renovations for a new Cars-themed attraction called Piston Peak National Park. The water in the river has been drained, and items on Tom Sawyer Island are marked for relocation.
Animal Kingdom: DinoLand USA Reimagining
As a devoted cinephile and theme park enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the transformation of DinoLand U.S.A. into a Tropical Americas-themed land has commenced, marking phase one of this exciting project! The perimeters now encircle the Dino-Rama attractions, and as we speak, the Boneyard play area is temporarily closed, with construction walls popping up near its entrance. However, fear not, dinosaur fans, for the DINOSAUR attraction will continue to amaze us through 2025!

The areas behind DinoLand have been vacated, with teams currently working on tearing down the dividing wall between this land and backstage zones. This preparatory work paves the way for the upcoming Pueblo Esperanza region, which will feature both the Encanto attraction and a revamped Indiana Jones ride. This new area is expected to launch in 2027.
