Rumor: Beloved Marvel Villain & Avenger to Return Soon

It’s been speculated that there could be a return of Elizabeth Olsen’s character Wanda, also known as Scarlet Witch, in the upcoming Marvel film “Avengers: Doomsday.” Although Olsen was not included in the cast announcement for “Doomsday,” which Marvel Studios revealed in March 2025, fans are intrigued due to her seemingly fatal end in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” This has left many questioning if she might reappear in some form.

Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda rumored to return from the dead

Recently, it was hinted by insider My Time To Shine Hello (MTTSH) that actress Elizabeth Olsen could reappear in the upcoming film titled Avengers: Doomsday.

On X (previously known as Twitter), the ice cream scooper posted a GIF depicting Wanda and declared, “Wanda has returned!” This announcement sparked excitement about the potential role of the Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s future.

In the final scene of Doctor Strange within the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda was depicted perishing as she destroyed the Darkhold atop Mount Wundagore. Ever since, there’s been plenty of debate about whether this iconic Marvel character truly met her end or if she might somehow still be alive.

In an electrifying chat with Jimmy Kimmel last September, 2024, it seemed like Elizabeth Olsen might’ve hinted at Wanda’s demise during our thrilling cinematic adventure. When asked about the enigmatic red light of explosive energy that concluded our movie, she subtly suggested, “I assume as much.” With a glimmer of hope in her eyes, she also revealed her yearning to bring Wanda back to life, declaring, “I’m open to ideas.” She left us hanging on the edge of our seats with her statement, “I think I’m dead,” but we can only guess what this means for our favorite Marvel superhero.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter during March 2025, I found myself eagerly listening as the actress subtly suggested her absence in the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday. With filming for the Marvel blockbuster due to commence in London, and my own schedule coinciding there, speculation swirled among fans that I might be involved. However, I soon put those rumors to rest by clarifying, “No, I’m currently back in the States. I’ve just wrapped up Panic Carefully and am now gearing up for filming a pilot titled Seven Sisters on FX.
