Both Superman & F1 Crossed This Major Box Office Milestone Together

With Superman and Formula One dominating the recent global movie charts and sports events, their achievements have garnered much interest. While Superman continued to excel in domestic cinemas, Formula One sustained its success overseas with robust international revenues. At the same time, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning stayed close behind, demonstrating consistent results throughout its global run.

Superman and F1 fly past $600 million at worldwide box office

Based on Box Office Mojo’s report, Superman has amassed a global total of approximately $604.5 million, with around $346.9 million coming from domestic markets and about $257.6 million from international territories. Meanwhile, The Movie boasts a worldwide box office of roughly $603.4 million, earning approximately $185.9 million domestically and around $417.5 million internationally.

James Gunn directed a movie titled Superman, starring David Corenswet. This movie premiered on July 11, 2025, and cost $225 million to produce. It is currently the highest-earning superhero film of 2025.

In the course of its release, Superman surpassed films like Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps in terms of performance. Additionally, during its run, it outearned previous titles such as Iron Man, Ant-Man, and Thor at the global box office.

*Note: Thunderbolts is a hypothetical title, as there is no confirmed film with that name in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As of mid-August, Superman amassed a total of $595 million at the box office after six weeks in cinemas. On the other hand, F1 had raked in $590 million by then, having been screened for eight weeks. During this period, Superman brought in an additional $3.1 million internationally and a total of $8.4 million worldwide.

The film earned a total of $9.3 million overseas, and $12 million in all regions, globally. This production also marked the highest-earning movie for Brad Pitt throughout his career. Notably, it surpassed the previous record of $540 million set by World War Z in terms of global earnings.

In simpler terms, F1 movie was a substantial financial commitment for Apple, costing over $250 million in production. Warner Bros. took care of distributing the film. The main character is portrayed by Brad Pitt, who plays a retired Formula One driver making a comeback. Interestingly, approximately 70% of its total box office earnings have originated from international viewers. However, Superman movie fared better in North America, with about 57.4% of its profits coming from the domestic market.

Bloodlines, and Weapons. On the global box office chart for that year, Superman and F1 secured positions at sixth and seventh, only a slight margin behind Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
