Many enthusiasts of Walt Disney World and the Muppets have been disheartened since the closure of Muppet*Vision 3D at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Yet, when one door shuts on the Muppet Theater, another opportunity seems to arise that Gonzo may well leap towards. In fact, a fresh Muppet attraction is in development, taking the shape of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.
For several years, there have been whispers about updating the current version of the attraction, which features the legendary rock band Aerosmith. Not long ago, it was officially announced that the ride would shut down in the early part of next year for a Muppet-themed transformation. Now, Disney World has shared fresh insights about the upcoming Disney World attraction. As a devoted Muppets fan who’s been eagerly awaiting the day when the Muppets would replace Aerosmith on the Rock ‘N’Roller Coaster, I am thrilled!
Scooter’s Uncle Owns G-Force Records In The Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster
As a music enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that while the main act on The Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster may have switched from Aerosmith to The Electric Mayhem, the overall setup remains largely the same. You’ll still be whisked away to G-Force Records, only to find a band in a bit of a pickle – running late for a performance this time around. But don’t worry, the surprise is even better now! Instead of human character actors like Ken Marino and Illiana Douglas, you’ll encounter the beloved Muppets, adding a delightful twist with penguin engineers and Scooter joining the band. The coaster’s ride experience will undoubtedly keep you on the edge of your seat, all while immersing you in the vibrant world of Jim Henson’s creations!
Among the new elements I find most intriguing in the story is learning that the G in G-Force Records represents a specific term. The reason behind the Muppets managing the record label is because it belongs to J.P. Grosse, who owned the Muppet Theater during the original Muppet Show, and is also confirmed as Scooter’s uncle in the canon.
Scooter Was The Original Muppet Nepo Baby
During The Muppet Show, it became clear that Kermit was pressured into giving Scooter a job because the theater where the show was held belonged to Scooter’s uncle. At times, Scooter subtly hinted at potential trouble from his uncle if Kermit didn’t comply with his uncle’s wishes.
In simpler terms, Uncle J.P. Grosse debuted during the second season of The Muppet Show, but his appearances were infrequent. As far as I’m aware, he has not been a regular character on screen for several decades.
There’s some uncertainty about whether the character will appear as a working puppet in the Muppets series. However, even if he only appears on a wall during queuing times, it’s exciting to see such an obscure Muppet reference being incorporated into the narrative. I find this delightful!
Despite feeling just as disheartened as anyone about the closure of Muppet*Vision 3D, I’m excited for what lies ahead in the future. I do find myself wondering though, has J.P. Grosse been the sole owner of G-Force Records all along? Was he in charge when Aerosmith was there? If so, that could potentially shed light on a few mysteries about that limousine.
