Star Trek Day will launch the second season of a Star Trek show designed for younger viewers.
Launching on Star Trek Day 2025, Star Trek: Scouts is a new animated series for young children. It will be available on the Blaze and the Monster Machines YouTube channel. The show follows three 8-year-old friends – JR, Sprocket, and Roo – as they learn what it takes to become Starfleet Explorers. Through exciting space adventures, they’re learning to explore, develop new skills, and bravely venture forward!
During the Star Trek Universe panel at San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that season two of Star Trek: Scouts will premiere on Star Trek Day, September 8th. This new season will have 30 short episodes, each lasting three minutes.
Nickelodeon has created Star Trek: Scouts, a new animated series for preschoolers – marking the first time the Star Trek universe has been expanded to reach this young audience. The show is produced with CBS Studios, and all 20 episodes from the first season are currently available on the Blaze and the Monster Machines YouTube channel.
The fact that Star Trek: Scouts is getting a second season with more episodes shows it’s popular with its target audience. What’s especially neat is that the premiere of Season 2, happening on Star Trek Day, will also celebrate the 60th anniversary of when Star Trek: The Original Series first aired in 1966.
The fourth season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will be ongoing during Star Trek Day, with the eighth episode, “Orders of Magnitude,” launching on Paramount+ on September 10th. This episode appears to focus on James T. Kirk (played by Paul Wesley), who will eventually captain the USS Enterprise – a fitting theme as it marks the 60th anniversary of the original Star Trek’s premiere.
Unlike other Star Trek shows on Paramount+ that have been canceled, Star Trek: Scouts is different. It’s a YouTube series made by CBS Studios, meaning it operates independently and isn’t affected by the same cancellation decisions.
If Star Trek: Scouts gets another season in 2027, it might be the only new Star Trek show still in production, as Star Trek: Starfleet Academy and Strange New Worlds are expected to finish around that time.
