The Odyssey Box Office Sets All-Time Christopher Nolan Record With Week 2 Drop

The Odyssey is sailing strong in its second week at the box office.

Christopher Nolan‘s new film, based on the classic story of The Odyssey, is performing exceptionally well. After a strong opening weekend that brought in $123.5 million, it only saw a 32% drop in ticket sales during its second week. According to Deadline, the movie made $25.9 million on Friday and is expected to earn around $84.5 million domestically this weekend. This is the best performance of any film directed by Nolan, surpassing the $75.1 million earned by The Dark Knight during its second weekend.

Christopher Nolan’s new film is doing incredibly well at the box office, and a big reason is its availability in premium formats like IMAX, PLF, and 70mm. These formats accounted for 58% of ticket sales during the film’s second weekend – up from 53% during its opening weekend – suggesting audiences are eager to experience the movie the way Nolan envisioned it.

More to come…
