Prime Video has a selection of new movies perfect for a fun weekend, including big-name actors and exciting stories. They’ve even got a realistic thriller mixed in for something different. Last week, I highlighted films like Do Not Enter, World War Z, and Moonfall that are currently available on Prime Video.
Just a quick update: all three movies are still available to watch on Prime Video this weekend if you haven’t seen them yet! They’re all still popular and currently charting nationwide on the service. Right now, the horror film Do Not Enter is the 8th most-watched movie in the US.
Brad Pitt’s World War Z comes in at number 7 on the list. However, Moonfall is doing even better, currently ranked at number 3. This sci-fi disaster movie centers around the moon crashing into Earth because of an alien attack. Moonfall‘s popularity led me to explore Prime Video’s selection of science fiction films to find other potentially captivating movies.
I highly recommend a beautifully animated film – it’s heartwarming, hilarious, and truly captivating. Along with that, this weekend Prime Video also features a hard-hitting action thriller and a fantasy movie that didn’t quite catch on in cinemas but is now gaining fans through streaming.
3. Ruthless (2023)
First up is the thriller Ruthless, starring Dermot Mulroney – known from the Scream movies. It’s a gripping story of revenge that follows a high school coach who takes matters into his own hands when one of his students is kidnapped by human traffickers. The coach’s personal tragedy fuels his determination to stop them, and viewers can expect an intense and anger-inducing experience.
Years before taking Catia as his student, Mulroney’s character, Harry, experienced a devastating personal tragedy – the rape and murder of his daughter. The animated film The Wild Robot launched on Prime Video this Friday, July 24th, and it’s a standout sci-fi movie. It’s a beautifully made film with stunning 2D/3D animation, excellent voice acting, and a compelling story full of surprises, heartwarming scenes, and exciting action.
The Wild Robot is a heartwarming story about Roz, a robot who washes ashore on a wild island after a shipwreck. She adapts to her new surroundings and unexpectedly becomes a mother figure to a gosling. The film explores themes of family, belonging, resilience, and perseverance. 1. Masters Of The Universe (2026)
If you’re looking for something to watch on Prime Video this weekend, we highly recommend Masters of the Universe. While it didn’t do well in cinemas, viewers are now enjoying this fantasy adventure about He-Man. It features a captivating world, vibrant characters, exciting action sequences, and impressive special effects – offering plenty of entertainment!
Currently, Masters of the Universe is the top movie on Prime Video both globally and in the U.S., according to FlixPatrol. The film features a talented cast including Nicholas Galitzine, Idris Elba, Camila Mendes, and Jared Leto. It follows He-Man (Galitzine) as he travels from Earth to Eternia to defeat Skeletor (Leto) and save his home. Masters of the Universe is a highly entertaining movie that’s sure to leave Prime Video viewers feeling good.
