The fourth season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds launched on Paramount+ on July 23rd and quickly became one of the platform’s most-watched shows. Within just 24 hours, it ranked as the No. 3 streaming series in both the U.S. and the UK (according to FlixPatrol). It also hit No. 1 in several other countries like Canada, Germany, Austria, and Italy. These numbers are for the premiere episode only; new episodes will be released weekly until September 24th.
Strange New Worlds Season 4 Has a Perfect RT Score
Early reviews for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 have given it a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes – the best of all four seasons! The first two seasons also received nearly perfect ratings. While not enough viewers have submitted reviews yet for an official audience score, the feedback so far is overwhelmingly positive, suggesting Season 4 is on track to achieve the highest audience score of any season in the series.

As Strange New Worlds approaches the end of its fifth season, the cast and crew are continuing to skillfully combine the feel of classic Star Trek with innovative storytelling. Whether a show truly captures the spirit of the original series is often a matter of personal opinion, but Season 4’s episodes clearly aim to recreate the blend of moral lessons and exciting adventures that made the earlier seasons so successful. Importantly, the show also isn’t afraid to take risks and explore new territory – something any new series within such a long-running universe should do.
Season 5 Will Officially End the Series
This show takes place before the events of the original Star Trek series, years before Captain James T. Kirk takes command of the U.S.S. Enterprise. Although Paul Wesley portrays Kirk, Captain Christopher Pike, played by Anson Mount, is the central figure leading the starship. He’s joined by his crew – including first officer Una Chin-Riley (Rebecca Romijn), science officer Spock (Ethan Peck), Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding), Dr. M’Benga (Babs Olusanmokun), and Nurse Chapel (Jess Bush) – as they venture into unexplored regions of the galaxy.
The series has only two seasons remaining. Season 5 will be the final season of Strange New Worlds, and filming for it is already finished – fans can expect it on Paramount+ next year. The second season of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will also conclude that show, arriving in 2027. After that, the franchise is planning a return to movie theaters.
