The third season of Sullivan’s Crossing ended with a shocking reveal: Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan) had secretly married Liam Davies (Marcus Rosner). After initially calling Liam a casual summer romance, season four explored their relationship and the impact it had on Maggie’s rekindled connection with Cal Jones (Chad Michael Murray), causing drama throughout Timberlake. The show’s central love triangle became particularly intense and emotionally charged in the most recent season.
Now that season 4 of Sullivan’s Crossing has finished and Liam’s character has left Timberlake – and his relationship with Maggie is over – it’s unlikely actor Chad Lowe will return for season 5. The new season will probably focus on the developing relationship between Maggie and Cal, and how they navigate their future together. Expect to see changes in Timberlake as the town of Sullivan’s Crossing continues to evolve. Although Lowe’s character won’t be back, he’s been a recognizable face for fans of the show.
Where You’ve Seen Marcus Rosner Before
Marcus Rosner, a 36-year-old Canadian actor from Campbell River, British Columbia, plays Liam. He began his career with a notable role as Ty in the CW film Joey Dakota and has since appeared in numerous popular TV series. Viewers might recognize him from roles like Charles Kensington in When Calls the Heart, Warren on Unreal, and Austin McMurray on Ride. He’s also made guest appearances in shows such as The Secret Circle, Arrow, Untold Stories of the ER, Supernatural, Once Upon a Time, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, and Mistresses.
Rosner is a familiar face in TV movies, having appeared in many films for channels like Hallmark, Lifetime, Great American Family, UpTV, and Prime Video. He’s starred in numerous Hallmark movies, including titles like Garage Sale Mystery: All That Glitters, A Christmas Detour, A Harvest Wedding, Christmas in Evergreen, Flipping for Christmas, Love on the Right Course, and Falling Like Snowflakes. He also played Marcus in Love on Harbor Island, alongside Morgan Kohan, who was his co-star on Sullivan’s Crossing.
Actor Rosner is known for his work on Hallmark, including roles as Marco DeLuca in the Autumn in the Vineyard, Summer in the Vineyard, and Valentine in the Vineyard movies. He also played Mark in An Ice Palace Romance for Hallmark Movies Now. Beyond Hallmark, he’s appeared in several Lifetime films such as Infidelity in Suburbia (as Elliot Graverston), Maternal Instinct (as Marshall Lancaster), Pointsettias for Christmas (as Sean Dalton), The Killer Downstairs (as James Brewer), Sweet Mountain Christmas (as Robbie), Killer in the Guest House (as Mark James), and Christmas with a Crown (as Prince Nicholas).
So, it looks like Ben Rosner is really embracing the TV movie world! I’ve noticed him popping up in a bunch of Great American Family films – he was Walker Jennings in Christmas in Maple Hills and Peter Brooks in Coupled Up for Christmas. He’s also done some work with UpTV, playing Drew Hutton in Love Stories in Sunflower Valley and Liam Hawthorne in A Vineyard Romance. And if that wasn’t enough, I recently saw he was Nico in the Prime Video movie My Fake Boyfriend. Beyond all of that, he has guest appearances on shows like Supernatural, UnReal, Mistresses, and even Sex/Life – a pretty diverse resume, honestly!
How Liam’s Character Changed Sullivan’s Crossing
The start of season 4 of Sullivan’s Crossing hinted at trouble for Maggie and Cal when Liam returned. Throughout the season, their relationship faced challenges, especially as Liam attempted to reconnect with his ex-wife. Maggie explained to Cal that Lola and Liam met during a European vacation – they swapped suitcases at the airport and he tracked her down at her hotel to return them. However, the real story behind their connection was more complicated and stirred up difficult feelings for Maggie.
A major focus of Sullivan’s Crossing season 4 was helping Liam cope with his past trauma, alongside Maggie’s difficult decision about her relationship with Cal and a possible reconnection with someone from her history. Even though Liam eventually left Timberlake and Maggie worked things out with Cal, his storyline was important. While Maggie and Cal had faced challenges before, Maggie’s clear commitment to Cal after Liam left strengthened their relationship and made it the heart of Sullivan’s Crossing.
