The popular franchise is approaching its 30th anniversary in 2026. Although the next major game, Winds and Waves, isn’t expected until 2027, fans have still enjoyed some recent releases. For example, The Pokémon Company is launching a new line of collectibles, including a fresh design for Charizard.
The Shower Splash collection, launching this September, includes a special Charizard design that resembles a blazing water fountain. Though this unique Charizard likely won’t be featured in upcoming games, it’s a design that fans of the original Pokémon will likely love.
Pokémon Officially Reveals 3 New 30th Anniversary Collectibles
Charizard is famous for receiving new appearances. Being one of the most beloved Pokémon, it gets these updates more frequently than almost any other. It gained a special Shiny color scheme in the second generation of games, two unique Mega Evolutions in the sixth, and a massive Gigantamax form in the eighth.
Charizard has a new look as part of Re-Ment’s Shower Splash Collection! These collectibles, sold in Japan, feature Charizard alongside other popular Pokémon like the Water-type Milotic, Plusle and Minun, the Dragon-type Hydreigon, and the Grass-type Shaymin.
As a new collectible, Charizard is depicted as a powerful stream of fire. He’s shown blasting flames into the air, which then collect like a pool of water on the rocks below.
The Shower Splash collection comes out on September 28th and usually costs around $60. However, you can currently buy it for $48 from Plaza Japan. Keep in mind that these prices don’t include shipping and any potential import fees.
As a huge Pokémon fan, I’m so excited about all the ways they’re celebrating 30 years! The Shower Splash Collection is cool, but it’s just one part of it. We’re seeing Pokémon team up with tons of other brands – Charizard seems to be everywhere, which is awesome! Plus, earlier this year we got new games like Pokémon Champions and Pokémon Pokopia, and they finally showed off the next big games, Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves. I can’t wait!
